Sonar only reading the surface

My sonar is only reading the surface and nothing else. I hit a wave and it worked properly for a couple of minutes then went back. The connections seem fine and the transducer is in the proper position. Could this be an internal problem or do I need to replace the wirrinig or transducer? Thanks, Ken

First, ensure that the transducer face is pointing down when the boat is level in flat water. You may want to do this step like a tv antenna, adjusting the angle of the transducer while watching the screen.
If that doesn't work, then try moving the transducer further into the water and repeat step one.
Sonar systems are (largely) directional, and will work best when parallel with the seabed (or lake bed etc)

SOURCE: lowrance x135 not functioning properly

Had the same issue with another brand. Turned out the transducer cable was picking up noise from other cables (power, trolling mtr. etc). Try moving the transducer cable away from any other cables. I put the cable in a 1/4 " plastic housing up to the point where it was above deck and it stopped all the strange stuff. Not sure about the temp issue??

SOURCE: LCX-25C seems to be cycling on & off when in the sonar mode.

I have a lcx-25 from year 2007 with same kind of problem. Service found o lot of condensed water inside. These devices are not water or gas proof. There was oxidized connectors etc. Maybe local electronic mechanic could help you.

Bose wave radio has no volume. Everything working properly. Last time this happened, unplugged it for a couple of months and it worked again.

Most likely poor cracked soldier joints. check around the high heat ares drivers out put transistors amp ic ect... also check ground tabs. wave soldier results in thin joints. just reheat and ad more soldier. good luck!

Timing after recording. and midi composing

May I suggest you try to adjust your audio settings inside Sonar. Also it is a good idea to always keep your C drive well defragmented. I once had this problem using Sonar LE and the only way I got rid of it was after formatting my C drive and reinstalling the drivers and Sonar again. After that the problem came back and then I upgraded from the SB Live to Audigy SE.
Make sure you also have lots of free space on your C drive and have a decnt amount of ram.

Tascam DP-02CF: How to transfer files to my computer?

Hi,

You can't see the fat partition from within the DP-02. It's there, but only your PC will be able to read the contents of the fat partition when you have the USB 'opened' on the DP-02. The manual states that if your CF card is less than 5 Gb in size than you will only see/be able to select one partition. The default CF card that comes with the DP-02CF is only 1 Gb.

If you've created a backup or exported your wav files properly and everything is working ok with the CF, then you should be able to see backup or wav files showing up in the fat partition while connected to the PC. Even if nothing is backed up or exported you should still see the directory structure from your PC with the three folders, BACKUP, WAVE and UTILITY. As you are not even seeing these directories, what may have happened is that the fat partition had become corrupted or these folders had gotten erased.

I would have thought that reformatting the FAT partition would have fixed this problem however and that the DP02-CF would automatically recreate the required directories on the CF media after a reformat. The manual is unclear on this however.

So a couple of things you could try:

1. You describe opening the USB connection as 'push the USB button and then hit enter'. I was assuming you meant that you were selecting 'usb' from the menu and then pressing the 'enter' button to open the usb connection. You may wish to verify that the usb connection is being opened properly first.

2. If the connection is opening ok, and after a reformat you still aren't seeing any folders in the fat partition while connected to your PC with the usb open, you might wish to try to recreating those directories in the FAT partition yourself. While accessing the FAT partition (DP-02CF's removable drive) from the PC create the three directories exactly as named in the manual (WAVE, BACKUP, UTILITY). If that works, disconnect from the PC, try exporting a track or backing up a song again, and reconnect to the PC to see if you can see/access those files now.

Best of luck.
