Question about Mitsubishi VS-50605 50" Rear Projection Television
Purchased Jan 2005. Lamp replaced once. Dark picture. During night time scenes I can hardly see anything. Have bright turned all the way up. Hooked to satellite system. Problem started after move in April. Formerly on cable system. Thanks.
That unit is a two mirror set. Meaning the light engine lens shines down onto a small mirror and that is reflected onto a large mirror and then onto the screen. Gravity being what it is dust and other contaminants cover the lower mirror. Moving the set would only aggrevate dust settling on it. To fix the problem the screen must be removed and the mirror cleaned. You won't believe the difference. It will be like watching a new tv.
