I have a Sony KP53V85, I get a repeated 4 blinks on the timer/power light. Lots of Websites say I must Replace IC 1509, I stared at that board for an hour, I cannot see this IC, can anybody tell me where it is?

The tv power supply board have problems and the caused, check the tv power supply board have it fixed or services by u or tv tech.most likely those capacitors parts are dying on the tv power supply board like bulging or puffing up.Take the tv aparts, check the tv power supply board that board where the power a/c cord plug into it.Carefully check for capacitors parts for bulging and puffing up on to it tops.Changes all these dying capacitors,tv should be work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
I would certainly go in there and check out the audio amp IC. Been a while since I repaired one of these.....The audio amp in this case may have a built in timer inside the same IC. As we speak, I do not remember the location. Please note it is on a heat sink and think it is a TDA series. When you find this IC, it will cross with a NTE semi conductor . You will see a schematic telling you it is, an audio amp with built in timer. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support.
It depends on your knowledge and skills to fix this tv problem. Power light 4 times blink shows problem in vertical deflection section and most probably vertical output chip got defective or not getting proper voltage supply to function correctly. Check vertical output IC connections on main board and resolder if found dry/ colder solder. Hope these info will help you to fix tv problem.
Thanks for using FixYa. Unplug
the TV and leave it unplugged for more than 4 hours to allow the capacitors to
fully discharge and reset your fault detection circuitry.
Plug it back in and turn it on. Also open the back cover and clean all the dust
with vacuum cleaner. If still the issue persists then it means that the high
voltage generation circuits are bad or there is no vertical deflection (V STOP)
and the screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted.
Check IC 1509, transistor Q1505 with a multimeter.
Please do accept the solution if
the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
sony blinking lites are error codes, on an LCD proj set 3 means bad lamp, 4 a bad fan 9 a bad thermal fuse, on a direct view like yours its probably 4 or 5 blinks indicating a bad D board (sells around $250) .
or a bad video IC, so B4 you buy a D board you need to check the CRT board if it has one IC on it measure ohms across the B+ capacitors on the CRT board, if shorted the IC is shorted and also the supply resistor will be open on the D board, if its shorted the CRT may be NG.
If the CRT board has three ICs don't bother checking eem just get the D board.
Eric
The usual cause of this is the sensing IC (there are 2 of them) on the power supply board. Sony usually recommends pulling the board and returning it to them for service.
The blinking red light at the the front of the television is the "Diagnostic STANDBY/TIMER LED".
This little red light will blink 2, 4, or 5 times and then stay off for three-seconds. And blink again for 2, 4, or 5 times. This cycle repeats. The most common diagnostic code is the 4-blink code.
When the red LED blinks 4-times, it means one of two possible causes:
1) +13V is not supplied on the A-board. Or, 2) IC502 is faulty.
It is best to take this television set to a repair facility and ask that the +13V power supply be repaired.
The copper tracks and integrated circuit pads are very thin and delicate on the KV-24FV12 circuit board, and will easily lift off of the circuit board, if the incorrect desoldering tool is used. Unless one has a good quality PACE vacuum desoldering unit, one should not attempt to repair the television.
I'm having the same problem. My stand-by light blinks 3 times though. The tv clicks as if it is going to turn on, but it never does. Is there a simple solution to this problem?
