Question about Sony ICF-2010 AM/FM/SW Radio
Sony ICF 2010 suddenly no sound. All else seems normal. Have used radio shack 4.5 v AC adapter for few years. Any suggestions much appreciated. AL
When I use AA batteries, it works fine. However, as soon as I plug in my Radio Shack AC Adaptor it shuts down. I bought another adaptor, no help. I have made sure that the input voltage polarity is correct. So I'm back to using batteries....works great with batteries. I checked across the power input of the radio with a high impedance ohmmeter....no short evident. I guess the only solution I can suggest is to get an "official" Sony AC adaptor instead of the Radio Shack version.

If the radio does not work with headphone then the external jack for audio may have broken loose from it's soldered points. Simple re solder may make the repair. Beyond that it would have to be diagnosed by a technician.
