Question about GE J Series 18.2 cu. ft. Top Freezer No-Frost Refrigerator TBX18AABWW
I need your help. Money is tight right now and hopefully this is something I can work on myself. I've got a GE side by side refrigerator that is not cooling properly. We moved milk, eggs, ham into the freezer to keep cool and noticed that the freezer is cold but is not freezing anymore. I did notice a buildup of frost on the back panel but have yet to take the panel off. There is a fan under the fridge that is working fine and I can hear the refrigerator humming like normal.
I'd like to pick your brains for any solutions. Thanks in advance.
The unit isnt defrosting hence the ice on the back panel. Either your bimetal thermostat is open or the heating element is shot. Most GEs they come together so happy hunting. Those parts are behind the frosting panel
