Blow down the small pressure switch pipe(remove it from the pressure switch)it should be clear, you should hear when you open washer door and blow down pipe, bottom of pipe often gets blocked with caked powder,a boil wash every so often eliminates this type of problem hope this helps

Will not agitate but spins

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Water fills to over flowing and never starts agitate or spin cycle

With the tub empty disconnect the air hose from the water level switch in the console. Blow through it to see if its kinked or restricted. Check the air bell for a buildup of **** especially near the opening where the air hose attaches.

If all is OK reattach the hose and disconnect it from the air bell. Turn your water off and set it to wash. Blow through the hose to see if the switch goes from fill to agitate.

Fills with water..doesn't wash..drains and spins..does the transmission spin in direction and wash in the other? in other words does the motor run one direction to spin and rev. to agg/

Yes it does reverse. If the motor is running in agitate pull off the agitator and check the agitator drive (bell) (white plastic bell shaped) on top of the agitate shaft is not stripped. You should not be able to turn. To remove the agitator fill first about 8 in of hot water, drain and pull up on agitator with fingers under the bottom or a belt.

Won't spin, just agitates. Clothes and water still in machine !!

Glad to hear of progress.Pump could be faulty. 1st you need to check nothing is stuck in the pump ie..coin, next make sure the filter is clean, now is the pump blade free to turn by hand if not investigate why. If all okay replace pump if satisfied there is no blockage and water is flowing to the pump, worthwhile at the final stage to make sure final drain hose to waste pipe is clear..Good luck if I can help anymore please ask...

I got the strings of my sweat pants stuck under the agitator of my old Hotpoint washing machines. How can I remove the agitator to untangle it?

At the top of the agitator has a cap get a flat screw driver and pry up and turn. When it comes off there is a nut you have to take off. Then pull up on the agitator..
