I replaced the screen on my Nokia 6500 classic and since then, I have no sound ie ringtone etc (altho I can here people on calls ok) Also, when plugging in the charger, it says "Charger not Supported". This is the same charger that used to work just fine. Any ideas? Debs I have the same problem, still cant find a solution on the net!!
This can be a problem for guys repairing this prob on this model themselves. I have repaired this problem several times before by replacing the unit that holds the screen in place. This is the part metal part that has 5 screws in it. once you take the screw out and lift this piece out you will see that there is also a bit of flex attached to it. This flex includes the charging block and also the connections that the speaker is in contact with. First before replacing this part make sure that it is fully connected onto the board and that it isnt just loose. The flex where it connects to the board is doubled over and glued back to back. peeling this apart will help you fit it easier. once LCD and this part is in try plugging the charge in and see what happens. If i is still broken you probably need to replace that bit of flex.
