Forgot BlackBerry Device Password

• If you have forgotten your BlackBerry device password, and your BlackBerry device is on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, contact your BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator and request to have your password reset.
  
• If your BlackBerry device is not connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server and you have forgotten your password, there is no way to have the password reset without erasing all the data.

If you know the password you're typing is correct, try the following:

1. Deliberately type in an incorrect password five times on your BlackBerry smartphone.
   
2. Before the BlackBerry smartphone allows a further attempt, you will be prompted to type the word blackberry in plain text.
   
3. Instead of asterisks, the text you have been entering for the password will now show in plain text. Check to verify that it is correct.
   
4. If the password is still being rejected by your BlackBerry smartphone as incorrect, connect the BlackBerry smartphone to a computer that has BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed.
   
5. A prompt will appear in BlackBerry Desktop Manager to type the password for the BlackBerry smartphone. Type your password to rule out missed key strokes, incorrect symbols, or a problem with the BlackBerry smartphone

Sorry to tell but at the moment there is no way to overcome that problem other than typing your password in 10 times and having all your data wiped. Once it has been wiped you can then set a new password to it. I hope you have everything backed up!

I got this phone from one of my friend who was moving abroad. He was using airtel sim with. I inserted my vodaphone sim in it and phone got locked. i have tried using password "blackberry" but it says wrong password. I dont mind if data is lost cos its not my data. the only thing you can do is enter in the password incorrectly 10 times. This will reset the device and all of the data on it is wiped off. Your only option is to connect it to your computer and start over.

i have forgot my password and cant use my phone anymore, and i bought my blackberry off a friend, and i dont think she changed my name into the accounts HELP!

I think all you can do it reset the device to disable the password completely. If you enter the password ten times incorrectly it will ask if you want to do a complete reset.

THIS WILL DELETE ALL YOUR PERSONAL DATA.

If you can, back up your device using the Blackberry Desktop Manager application before doing a reset. Then you can re-load all your personal data after the reset, instead of having to type it all in again.
