The Singing Machine STVG-700 CD Player

I have The Singing Machine Model STVG-700 and the micorophones no longer work, can you help me? I've purchased 2 new microphones and they work on another cd player, neither will work on the Singing Machine STVG 700. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many of the Singing Machine Karaoke system manuals are available on the company's support site: http://www.singingmachine.com/support/instruction_manual.php . The direct link to the STVG-1009 manual is http://www.singingmachine.com/download/Instruction_Manual/2010/CDG/STVG-1009/STVG-1009%20IM%20E01%20(SMC%20US).pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have a STVG-500 and the CD Player is not working.

Here's a shot in the dark ...try loosening the screws that hold the printed circuit board. It worked for me.

No sound when cd is playing, or on microphone

probably the amp section- I am working on a STVG-700 right now, the audio amp is mounted on the lowest circuit board in the case, includes the power supply except for the transformer. There are fuses mounted on this board, with luck that's all that blew on this. I know this problem is months old, but if you're like me and didn't get it fixed quickly, it's still sitting around somewhere...

The singing machine stvg-513 cd player wont work

These are a pain in the **** to service. I have a -700 in the shop right now I'm working on, the drive tray was jammed, so I freed it up (trial and error), and while I didn't notice the first time I checked, the flat-film ribbon cable that plugs into the optical (read) head had gotten some of the conductive traces scraped off. I took a cable from a working unit, installed it, tweaked the laser drive just a bit, and now the drive reads track 0 (with the track info). What I haven't yet figured out yet is why none of the CD controls work (>, <, <<, >>, ||, etc.). This isn't terribly advanced service, but it's beyond beginner level.
