What model laptop do you own?

go to the Control Panel and double click the Mouse properties icon.

There you can change the sensitivity; under pointer options and Tapping

If you have a laptop with a touchpad just below the spacebar be careful that you are not accidentally hitting the touchpad. I had an identical problem on one of my laptops, and simply switching to using a mouse and turning off the touchpad fixed the problem for me.

Where you change the settings is going to vary depending on the operating system you are using (XP, Vista, Mac OS, etc). If you are using Windows, it'll be under the Control Panel as ariyoso mentioned, and you should either see the mouse there or under another subheading like Printers and other Hardware.

When I type a sentence my curser will go back to the middle of the sentence and continue the sentence I am typing. Why?

Make sure you haven't got a watch/metallic bracelet on. It can interfere with the touch pad and move the cursor around unexpectedly.

Curser keeps jumping from where I'm typing to the start of my sentence

Under control panel double click the mouse and under pointer options turn off the snap to setting and restart this should correct your problem, If not the mouse could be failing. I hope this helps.

While im typing, my curser skips back into the middle of my sentences, and i have to retype my whole sentence again...what is causing this to happen and how can i fix, thank you

if it is the same thing that happens to me you need to shut off your touchpad (mousepad) when you are typing as your fingers or palms cause the curser to jump if you touch it while typing

Jumping cursor on EEE pc.

You're hitting the touchpad with your palms as you type. Either lift your hands when you're typing or temporarily disable the touchpad.

Text jumping and windows minimising on windows vista

Hi,

With my laptop also I had this issue....

But after a spending lots of time I had the cause.......

It is because of the Touchpad...It happend to me because while typing using the keyboard the fingers and palm may touch and move the mouse curser to another location.

Please check is this applys to you.....
