Hi there Got a grating noise on my pronto electric wheelchair. Almost like a drive belt (if they have them) is broken on one side.

No belts on the M91. Your right motor sounds like it has stripped gears. The gears cannot be replaced. The whole gearbox has to be replaced. Most stores will only replace the complete motor and gearbox assembly. Invacare may not sell just the gearbox.

One drive wheel does not turn. If you pull the release lever,it still does not turn.

There are TWO release levers on the Smartie. (Link to specs and manual below) Please make sure you are engaging both levers. If you find both levers and are still having issues it is likely that you have a broken or frozen (rusted/oxidized/clogged) brake disk. This issue is common to all power chairs and scooters in high humidity areas.
A frozen brake disk require disassemble of the brake on the end of the motor, cleaning with super fine sand paper or an emery cloth and then careful alignment and re-assembly. This is a pain and requires skill and patients.
THe issue may also be a bad motor or gearbox. If the motor or gearbox will not turn once the brake has been removed then it is a bad motor/gearbox.
Many dealers will not invest the time to replace or fix the brake and will opt for replacing the motor/brake assembly as it is a sure fix and not time intensive. Shoprider Smartie Power Chairs

MPV4 - Right wheel is semi locked

Could be a number of issues here.
Caster bearings need cleaning\replacement
Fork bearings need cleaning\replacement.
Drive Tires could be too low and need air.
Motors were not properly mounted to gearbox and/or motor coupler is damaged.
Too much crud is wrapped around a wheel - obstruction.

The VSI controller isn't flashing a code so you are electrically connected to the motors, brakes and batteries. Problem appears to be mechanical - not electrical.

Shoprider power chair won't move and 8 Battery LED Lights are flashing

Code 8: Controller problem. Also, check to see if your gearbox levers are engaged - if you can roll the chair by hand the gearbox is not engaging the motors.

My right front wheel is "locked" and unable to

Seth first push the freewheel lever for you right motor to freewheel to see if it move if you can turn the wheel in freewheel then the gearbox is not frozen. But even if you can get it in freewheel then the problem of not getting the motor to run when you engage the joystick is a bigger problem I'm afraid the only fix is to replace the motor/gearbox assembly. Now if medicare paid for your chair then they will pay 80% of the repair cost. Contact the provider that sold you your chair and ask if they can repair it. If not contact Repair Express @1-877-581-373 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-88-467-2668 to have the chair fixed Hope this helps you

My mother has a pride jet3 electric wheel chair that doesn't move now. the power button bar shows full charge and the light below that just blinks. Did she lock it up some how?

You can visit this website to find answers on what the flashing trouble indicator lights mean:
Locate the page that has the controller used on your power chair/scooter and count how many lights are flashing to diagnose the trouble. If your insurance purchased the power chair for you, they may also cover the repairs; contact them for information.
Good luck!

Chair won't go. Lights flash

Check your freewheel levers. They must be engaged or the lights will flash and the chair will be inoperable. These levers are under the shroud behind drive wheels. (One on each side)

My jazzy 1115 joystick controller flashing and the chair doesnot move .

1. make sure it's not still pluged in recharging.
2. make sure both free wheel levers are engaged.

if the jazzy is still flashing and not moving refer to the flash code in your owners manual. count the flashes between pauses. get back to me if you don't have the manual. Mike
