Question about Samsung SyncMaster 720N Monitor
I have left it off for some time and nothing! it has random moments where it will start flicking through the menu screen and then stop. any kind of solution would be amazing pelase! the syncMaster 720n is locked with the brightness on...have you found a solution?
Please try to turn the monitor off. Hold down the Menu button while the monitor is turned off, then press the Power button again to turn the monitor back on. This should unlock your OSD menu from your screen. regards

My solution for this problem was to just unscrew the 4 leg screws and the 2 in the botton. Then with a card, such as a creditcard or a swipe card of some sorts just carefully take off the black (or in my case silver) front plate and just take out the circuit board that controls the buttons. Then carefully put back on the frontplate, put the screws back in, and it'll work. The only problem you create is that you don't have a power button anymore, but you can obviously solve that with taking out the power plug.

I had the same problem. looking at the solutions and saw the hair dryer solution. Having had a air compressor close by, I opened the monitor, took out the console button pcb.
Then using compressed air on each of the buttons from all possible angles.
Reassembled everything, and voila... all working perfectly again.
