Problem with Razr 2 v9m mini port cover

I got a Razr 2 v9m and the phone works find minus the short battery life. This is something I can deal with since I love the large external display. The problem I have is the mini USB cover that has pop off twice from the little slide out sleeve. I use crazy glue to put it back on but after a week or so it come off again. Do you have any suggestions on what I can use to may it a permanent fix? Short of this the phone works fine...

Thanks

ya my phone is doing the same i e-mailed my carrier verizon where i bought the phone and they informed me that no recall or warrantee is in place to help me with the problem

No it didn't work but thank for trying. I did buy the extended battery and I can go two days on one charge. I get about 4 hours talk time. Short of the usb cover the phone been working pretty good. That missing usb cover do leave my picky finger sore. Like you said that's bad for all the money I spent for this Razr 2. Motorola should be ashame of themself. Thanks again for trying.

The same thing happened to me too. I just ended up cutting it off after the plastic cover came off.

I had the same thing happen to me about 2 months after I bought it. I tried to superglue it several times, but it made a bigger mess than it was worth. Now all that is left is the little rubber piece that it used to be connected to. I would love to get it replaced because I liked how it looked when it was new, but I just figured the new one would pop off as well, and I just be back at square one. Any suggestions?

I'm rroyal121 and I posted this problem back on Oct 21, 2007 when my port cover came off and nothing I use would fix it. The thing just kept falling off. Over time I just kept saying without that cover this phone is ugly. About 3 months ago my Alltet Razr 2 had a problem with the internal antenna so I had to get it replace under the warranty. When I got it I was afraid to touch the port cover for fear it would fall off. So I did some searching for a desktop battery charger which I found for $5 not including shipping but the thing works great. When the price of extended battery for this phone drop I also got a extra extended battery with cover for around $35.So now instead of charging it with the phone I just switch batteries. I get about 2 days use from a battery which works out find for me.

I understand what you all could be saying and it don't make any sense to spend extra money for a phone I already spend an arm and leg to buy, but a lease I don't have to deal with the lost cover making the phone look ugly. It is really just the people (Motorola) who made the phone for not putting more effort in the design of this phone. When I do buy a replacement, the port cover will be check out well before laying my money down.

I've had the RAZR 2 twice now on Sprint. My first one I had experienced the the port cover falling off and super glued it but it fell off. Later I started having problems with the port itself and the charger. It seems there's some wear and tear on the port without the cover. After a while I was charging my phone laying down since that was the only way it would charge which was most inconvenient. After that it stopped working completely and wouldn't turn on or charge. I had that first one a total of 7 months. Sprint replaced it and my current RAZR 2's port cover is still on but appears to still have problems.
Another problem seems to be that while texting after pushing the send button the phone will do either two things. It will freeze and reset or just reset. I had the problem this morning also when unlocking my phone which is the first time it's happened outside of texting.

Dont feel bad mind just came right off. i contacted my carrier since its only 15 days old and they told me motorolla wont do anything about it. my battery life stinks although i love the phone and what it has to offer its very short lived. i really do think if there gonna charge 499.00 for a phone it should hold up. I ordered the extended battery for the phone lets see if that works. all my features are set at bare mininum so lets see what happens as for the cover for the charging port for get the number. they wont do a thing sorry.

Motorola razr2 v9m wont charge

My guess is that the charging port in your phone has gone bad. By holding it a certain way, you may be reconnecting it just enough to make the connection. Probably have a loose or broken wire inside your phones port. You may also see this is a problem if you try to hook it up to a pc.

My motorola razr 2 v9m only works while on the charger. As soon as I take it off the charger the phone turns off.

try a new battery and also take the phone to a mobile service center and have the mainboard reflash on the phone.

RAZR2 V9

Hey Happytm,

Is this a V9m? How old is your unit?

If it is, there should be a warranty replacement for lost charging port covers (as they had a habit of falling off).

Hope this helps,
cHiPz.

Sprint V3M Short Battery Life / Won't Turn on

Make sure that you did not bend the pins installing the sd micro memory card. Its very easy to do and it will short to ground decreasing battery life significantly.

Razr battery trouble

Don't buy a RAZR. i work for verizon and the RAZR is the worst phone for battery life. There is, however an extended battery that may provide a temporary fix until you buy your next phone....and don't buy a RAZR
