We moved from one office to another. We changed the ip address too onboth copier and computer. The printer is networked/working fine withthe computer but when we do scanning it says ''error while interactingwith scanner, the selected scanner was not found. Network processing is timed out. Check the scanner and network status. The scanner driver will be quitted.
I ran the network scangear utility from the start menu. Clicked ''discover scanner'', and selected my copier and applied it.

Re: Canon IR scan problem
Read the Manual (comes with Tool). If you don't have the Tool download it from the Canon site. Go to the copier and press the System/Options button next to Copy/Mailbox/Fax. Press Online. Then try scanning. Go back to copier and press Offline so can photocopy again.
I had a similar issue, and was able to resolve it by downloading & installing Network ScanGear version 2.30 from Canon. After this, I ran it & added the scanner as you did. Then I opened my scanning software, OminPage, ran Tools, Scanner Setup Wizard, and re-added the scanner.

connect computer to network install canon color network scangear, select printer ip in this software. now you need scanning software. I'm using freekapture. place document in printer scanner. click scan button on printer.open freekapture and start scanning
You would need to ensure that the IR 5020 has a valid IP address (Should be located on the Network Configuration Menu from the on-screen display). When plugged into the network for the first time the printer is usually given an IP address, this would allow you to connect to the web management interface and make changes to the settings from an easier interface than the on-screen display.
If you are planning on sharing the IR 5020 out from the server to other computers then you would then need to assign a static IP address to the IR 5020 so that the IP address would not change once configured.
(Side-note - I do not recommend using DHCP on printers as it can cause issues down the road if the printer is given a defferent IP address by the DHCP server.)
give the same class ip address to your printe and computer and install ms office soft ware, and then microsoft tools click that we find the microsoft document scanning create shortcut to the desktop. ping the printer for computer run the network scan gear and click on the ip, enter the ip address in the blocks and then the discover. then scan the document for the ir 3300 scanner.
i have an IR 3300 (used) i have given TCP/IP correct with machine and PC also. ping command is working properly and IR Machine also response from the host and also i'm success output (Printout) but can't scanning. I have scangear also tried but the messeage appear "the spacified IP address is invalid or scanner is not connected to the specified IP" but my IP address is correct. (both side) i know that after this my Machine will be online from System button but there is no software. i cant solve my problem
