Is the air blowing out of the pick-up tube or out of the exhaust tube on the unit? I am assuming the pick-up tube. The installer has hooked your system up to the exhaust tube on the unit. Hook up to the intake on the unit instead.

Central vac not sucking

Check for a plugged tube in the wall by listening to the motor when it's running. If it sounds like it's running too fast then there's an obstruction. If it sounds ok, then there's a disconnected tube somewhere in the system.

I would recommend checking your wall outlets where the hose plugs in for any type of clog in the tubing. If the vacuum itself has great suction but when you go to the wall outlets that is probably something in the hose that is stuck. If cleared it will most likely have excellent suction throughout the entire system in the house.

My central vaccum cleaner has no suction at all outlets even at the canister. The motor is still working and blowing air out the air release tube. What could be the problem

Check the filter in the tank. If this is dirty, the motor will still run, but there will be little to no suction. Rinse thoroughly under warm water, then allow to thoroughly air dry before replacing into vacuum.
I recommend having two filters in order to use one while the other is drying.

Problem is system cuts off after 10-30 seconds. Is this a common problem?

It is if the motor overheats. Overheating can be caused by several things. Clogged pipes, hose, wands, or power nozzle, or a dirty filter are the most common.
First, disconnect the hose from the wands, plug the hose into the wall outlet, and check the suction. If it's weak or non-existent, there's probably a blockage in it. You can double check by dropping a coin in one end and lifting the hose until the coin drops out the other end. This can best be cleared by using a shop vac or air compressor to blow air through it from the wall end. Plug the shop vac hose into the exhaust port, with the other end in the wall end of the hose Turn on. If this doesn't clear it, you'll probably need to take it to a repair shop.
Visually check the wands. If clogged, simply push it out with a broom handle.
With the wand detached, drop a coin into the wand opening of the power nozzle. If it doesn't fall through, use a wooden spoon handle to push the clog back through toward the brush. Clear it from there.
Check the filter. Remove it and rinse thoroughly. Allow it to air dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
If none of these help, the vacuum needs to be taken to a repair shop for diagnosis and repair.

No suction

On some units there is a screen that protects the impeller of the motor. If this gets sealed off with debris then it is like putting a potato in the tail pipe of a car. Taking the top off the unit reveals the motor. DO UN-PLUG the unit first from the electrical outlet. Take off the exhaust piping if any to allow the motor to be lifted out of the canister. There is typically enough wire to allow this without taking any wires off. Look at the bottom of the motor to make sure the nut has not spun off the impeller and it is still attached to make suction. The look at the hole (aprox. 2" round) to make sure it is clear of any debris. If it is not clean it and re-install everything. If the impeller is off the motor it is new motor time.

Hope this helps!!

Do you have the same problem in all of your outlets? If you do, then there is a problem with the hose end. If it is only at one outlet, then that outlet has a problem.
