Question about Sony Computers & Internet
I went on a trip and had my laptop secured in my suitcase. Upon arriving home, the idits at the TSa left a notice that they had serched my suitcase. Now my laptop does not seem to power up correctly. Actually, the power light comes on but the screen does not illuminate. Can you help??
Check the power adapter plug with a multi-meter, the voltage reading should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter.
If the voltage is incorrect or near to zero then you have a faulty adapter and you need a replacement.
If the voltage is OK, when you plug the connector into the laptop power socket and wriggle the connector, does the charge indicator light flicker but not stay on. Then you have a faulty connector or a faulty power socket on the laptop. This can be repaired.
