When I start up the computer the screen stays black - no illumination at all. When I push the power putton there is a green light and a red (looks like battery light) illuminated. The laptop fan seems to be coming on for a couple seconds and then turning off. it seems to be doing this continuously. help!

I forgot to mention, I do have the computer plugged in. The yellow charging light does not illuminate. I took the battery out to examine. Everything seems fine. Still not yellow light....given the red light associated with the battery. It seems like the battery is dead but not charging. The computer is only about a month old.

When you turn the computer on, do you see *ANY* messages at all?

Does your computer have different lights:

    * computer is connected to AC power-supply

    * battery is completely discharged ("red")

    * battery is charging ("yellow")

    * battery is full-charged ("green")

Check the power adapter plug with a multi-meter, the voltage reading should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter.
If the voltage is incorrect or near to zero then you have a faulty adapter and you need a replacement.
If the voltage is OK, when you plug the connector into the laptop power socket and wriggle the connector, does the charge indicator light flicker but not stay on. Then you have a faulty connector or a faulty power socket on the laptop. This can be repaired.

TSA opened our lock on our Delsey luggage, I now am unable to lock the suitcase. How can you reset the lock on the Delsey luggage after unlocked by TSA?

1. Look for a small recessed button below (on the bottom side) the TSA key access.
2. Push in the button with a paper clip or pen.
3. While the button is pushed, change the combination to the desired numbers.
4. Then release the button and the combination has been reset.

I also found this, but it needs to be open/

Can you take bottles of alcohol in your carry on luggage or checked luggage

Carry on is OK, but must meet the TSA standards, same as all other carry on liquids. 3 ounces or less.

Checked is also OK, no limits, but pack securely to avoid breakage and pilfering by baggage handlers.

The best test for this is a cooling system pressure test. You need to have that done. The other thing to check are the freeze plugs.

Take it back to the airport and ask to speak to TSA and tell them that it was opened with the master key. Have them return the lock to its original position by turning the key.

Eminent luggage lock

TSA lock on Eminent Osmosis Luggage, three digit TSA lock (HOW to change it to YOUR personal number)

Put the code numbers to '000'
Take the lock levers OFF the lock
Push the round opening button UPWARDS.
IMPORTANT :
KEEP holding the button UP until you have changed the numbers
Change the TSA code numbers to what YOU want
Release the round opening button
Now your case combo lock numbers have been changed.

To lock the case put the two lock levers into the holes, spin the numbers and your case will be locked.
To UNLOCK the TSA code spin the numbers to YOUR lock code, push the lock button UP and, hey presto, your case will open.

If you forget your NEW lock number you will NEED to go through ALL the numbers, starting at '000' to '999', to be able to open the lock/case.
REMEMBER to PUSH the ROUND OPENING button UPWARDS on EVERY number change.
Only THEN, when it finds YOUR correct three digit number, will it eventually open the suitcase/luggage/baggage.
Good luck

I have a somesonite 30in hardshell , uprite about 20 yrs old. has 2 key locks, as well as combanation center lock. question how can i set these locks so that, they are TSA excessable locks??? PLS. Help ...

You can have the locks changed but, that will cost almost as much as new luggage. They will have to be kept unlocked and a TSA strap will be needed around the suitcase.

I HAVE THE TSA COMBINATION LOCK ON A SAMSONITE GRAVITON G LUX

I can't answer the problem - but am interested as we had an identical failure on holiday in South Africa. We had to force the case open as the lock and the mechanism seemed to have come adrift in that when moving the lever with the correct combination - the case neither opened or closed. I'm sending it back to Samsonite under warranty to hopefully get it repaired/replaced. I rang the UK number listed on the Samsonite website. Bit disappointed as Samsonite should be more reliable - particularly given the price of the case, at £295, isn't exactly cheap.

Memory Card Error after Airport Security

In suitcase? Checked baggage? Bad idea. Here's why. I damaged an LCD display that way. Not cracked or broken, but the baggage area is not a heated or insulated space. The temperature can reach well below -40 F (or C). Most electronics is not rated for such and my LCD on the device I put in my checked luggage shows the effect. Lesson learned firsthand....
