Rethread the top of the machine with the presser foot up; sew with the presser foot down. If the fabric is too thick/too many plies, the presser foot is forced upwards, allowing the top tension to open. This causes thread snarls on the underside. have you tried changing the needle
rethread the machine top & bobbin
when embroidering make sure it good quality thread
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for loose threads & lint
make sure the thread your using it not knotty
make sure the tension is set for the thread & needle & fabric your using
make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever

try rethreading the machine top thread and bobbin
make sure to use every thread guide
make sure the bobbin is not over full
make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case
if the bobbin and bobbin case have to be inserted togeather,,
make sure that the bobbin case is secure and snug in the machine
make sure the thread does not come off the thread take up lever
