Physical memory dump screen

My dell d400 is displaying a blue physical memory dump complete and wont work, help

    yes, what it says is



    Stop: C0000218 {Registry file failure}

    the registry cannot load the hive (file):

    \systemroot\system32\config\software

    or its log or alternate.

    it is corrupt, absent, or not writable.



    Beginning dump of physical memory

    Physical memory dump complete,

    contanct your system admin or tec suppor group for further assistance.

    Turn the computer off.

    Turn the computer on.

    When it boots into Windows, do you get the same "blue screen" ??

    What's the error on the blue screen?  There's a line that says STOP and then some hex dumps.  Post that line and we'll see what's what.

Try increasing the virtual memory of the ram and check if the issue occurs

This is a critical error that has occured due to a unstable core system 32 file base. this has cuased the OS to collapse. you will need to try a system restore. you may or may not be able to retrive your stored files. during the restore, some hard drive files may be deleted. this is the best way to regain stability.

In most cases, thsi is cuased by malware and virus attacks as well. you can initiate a restore by inserting the recovery disk that should have been shipped with your CPU. check in the box that it was packaged in for this recovery disk. if this disk is nto availibe, you will need to purchase a copy of you rOS. you can use this to re install the OS.

You should knwo that, when you use fresh copy of the original OS, it may wipe all stored files in this case.

    Be sure to re format the Hard drive during the system restore to clean out any remaining viruses.

Try this: Reboot and select Recovery Mode, then from the c:\windows prompt type: chkdsk
Let it run through checkdisk then try it should boot up.

once your computer take an BOD or blue screen of *****. it is an indicator that one of you perepherals was damage. in that case you only have to option the memory cards or the HDD. if some point you dont experience a hard time in booting it is not the HDD. maybe your memory cards was in defective state. sometimes good sometimes bad. try to chkdsk first or scan your HDD for posible bad cluster. and make a test also in your memory using some stress memory tester

Usually this blue screen appears due a hardware issue or drivers conflict.

1) Try to boot in safe mode (hit F8 after starting up) and select "Safe mode"

If you don't get access try doing this:

2) Run the OS CD and use the option Recover Console (R)
This will fix the problem.

3) If the problem continues, you will need to install the OS again.

Registry file failure


If the last suggestion i posted didn't work, you need to put in your Windows CD on boot up and when it asks if you want to repair or install press 'R' for repair, this should repair any damaged registry files and Windows files.
