From my experience this usually means that your console is not recognizing the HDD (
hard drive) for what ever reason. A PS3 will not turn on if it thinks further damage will occur. Here are two things you can do;
1. Try accessing the repair menu. Here's how you do this: With a solid red light showing, hold down both the power & eject buttons. You're going to hear a single beep, then a double beep. Once you hear the double beep, release both buttons. You'll get a message on your TV saying "connect your controller using
USB". Following all the instructions will lead you to a 6 item menu. You are going to choose number 3. If that option doesn't work, pick number 6. BE WARNED!!! Number 6 will delete ALL of your saved memory! I know that really sucks, but this may be the only way to save your console short of repair. You can "back-up" your saved data using a "USB
storage device" Like a memory stick or even your iPod.
If none of this works, or the console won't let you do the "double button" thing, it'll need to be repaired. You can contact PSR repairs at
www.psr1.com. They are really great! They do both warranty & non-warranty repair work for a very decent price. I hope I helped. Good luck, FAMILIA!
p.s. My mom's name is Garcia, also. So you know I won't steer you wrong, carnal!
Is the WARRANTY for the computer still valid -- if so, your computer can be professionally fixed for free.
If you remove the battery, and power the laptop only from the AC adapter, do you still have the problem?
