When i put the Micro SD Adaptor into my Acer one laptop it says it needs software to read it? Please advise me where i can get this software as my SD card never came with any? Thanx

    With the device connected,

have you tried using Windows Update (or Microsoft Update),

choosing "Custom" and "Optional Hardware", to get Windows

to search for the correct drivers?

    What manufacturer of SD Adapter?

Does the manufacturer have a web-site?

Go into Control Panel, "Add Hardware" with the reader in place and an SD card inserted in it

Select find new hardware the machine should do a search and report the device as a USB port and accept the reader.

There is the possibility that your anti-virus or firewall is blocking it so make sure you are not connected to the internet and then switch them both off before you try the install again

Does Acer aspire 5740 support microSD cards?

Yes it do supports the microSD cards, You will need either an adaptor or a USB cable which can connect the device which uses the card to you laptop.

There are a couple of types of adaptor, one basically converts the micro card to and looks like an ordinary SD card. The other looks like a USB flash drive which you slot the micro card into.

I can't find a Scan Disc pro Que, but I can find a Sandisk Pro Duo, which is a micro SD card.

Really cheap on Ebay. Just search for a Micro SD card adaptor.

How shall i put in a kingston 1gb micro sd in a All in 1 card reader

You should have 2 components with your micro SD card. The card, a small adaptor and a large adaptor. All you need to do is see what size adaptor your read needs. You place the card in the tiny slot in the adaptor and slide it in the reader. The computer will find the micro SD and install the driver to read it. Then it will give you an option to open the files. That is how 99% of them work.

Would like to download pictures from nikon coolpix s210 to an Acer Aspire One laptop

You don't really need it.  If you get a USB adaptor for your SD card you can just put the card in and read the photos like a USB flash drive.

SanDisk 2GB micro SD memory stick isn't working in my laptop. I use a Sony Vaio with Vista, it has a digital camera memory stick slot, and pc adaptor slot for micro SDs. I slipped in my SanDisk memory...

Fixed it. All I needed to do was update the software drivers on my laptop. I have a sony vaio, so I looked up the software drivers they had online and downloaded them. After I installed them it worked flawlessly.
