Question about Hoover SteamVac F5914-900 SpinScrub Upright Vacuum
My brushes will spin when not touching the carpet, but will stop when let down and will not suck up the dirty water---what is the problem ? I cleaned the brushes and the intake valve on the bottom left corner
My Hoover Steamvac problem isn't with the bruches--it's with the suction. Dirty soapy water stays in the carpet instead of being returned to one of the holding tanks.

I have the Hoover spin brush upright. I have tried everything from cleaning out the path the dirt gets sucked through, to making sure the lids are all on tight. The brushes spin, there is just hardly any suction. All the water is all over the carpet and the darn cleaner won't **** it up. This steam cleaner is only like 6 months old. Very disappointed.

I had the problem with not picking up the dirty water. I fixed the lid to the receiving tank and it worked fine. Phew!

I have the same problem with mine. Unfortunately, the seal on the container that takes the dirty water appears to be broken already. I push it on tightly and it will work for about 2 seconds. In my opinion, this is a design flaw. I've had it less than a year.

When I had no suction, I discovered that the lid to the bottom water tank was not on TIGHTLY. Once I fixed that, it worked fine! Thank you to everyone for your help.

Most likely you have a bad turbine. That is what runs the brushes. It is best to replace it.

Tips for a great answer:
Remove the clean water tank.
Recline the handle and let the cleaner lay flat.
Remove the dirty water tank lid.
Reposition the front panel located on the outside of the tank in the center. It should be flush to the tank, even straight across and pushed down as far as it will go.
Assemble the dirty water tank lid back on from the front to the back. The lid should not lift up from the front.
Give it a try! The suction should be restored. Hope this helps!
