check to see if front pannel wiring board has the jack well placed there and all wiring is ok, if all ok you could try with contact spray within the jack itself, last option is to check if wires from front pannel to motherboard are placed where they should be, respecting the proper way of placement (+,-) , if that doesnt work, try installing your sound card again and it's application, in the application itself you should have a option : Pop-up when jack input detected. hope that helped you.
Go to start button and type device manager in the search programs and files box. Then click on the device manager in the list the pops up. once in the device manager, click on the carrot next to sound, video and game controllers. Right click on the installed sound card and choose delete. Reboot computer and sound will be restored to the headphone jack.
Find and Try reinstalling Driver for onboard audio look in device manager and see if there is an exclamation mark next to your sound hardware, also there maybe an audio out jack on your vid card that has priority over your onboard since its hd
Go to the device manager and check that the sound driver is installed and working correctly. Start>control panel>hardware and sound>device manager. Look for; sound, video and game controllers and expand the menu. Right click on the audio adapter and click properties. This will tell you if the adapter is working correctly. Click on the driver tab and choose; update driver and then; search automatically for updated softwarel. Sometimes the sound can be muted so thats worth a look as well. From the control panel choose hardware and sound and under the sound heading, click adjust system volume and check that the volume is turned up and not muted.
You say that you get sound from the speakers but not the headphones,, what i advice you to do is going to control panel, go in hardware and sound, in device manager, look for your sound driver for example, sound max, once you found them right click and uninstall, afterwards restart your pc, that should fix your sound by reinstalling your drivers, if that doesnt work i recommend going to control panel sound settings and switching sound outputs..
make sure your doing the obvious things correct before you begin messing with your computer. ex. jacks, volume, etc. if that doesn't work right click my computer and go to manage. Next choose device manager. then you should see a list of appliances including your speakers. If you see a "?" or "!" chances are you are needing to reinstall drivers for your speakers. If your speakers are bluetooth then you really shouldn't unplug them because they're just going to keep messing up every time you do.
If you are using 4 speakers , click control panel and right click to open sound manager, click speakers configurations and hit the 4 channels . This might be solved. Check also your volume and adjust. Is your DVD or CD rom working well ? If not ,repair and reinstall driver.
