Question about Sony STR-DE635 Receiver

Blows main fuse when power is turned on

Our Sony receiver blew a fuse. We got new fuses to replace the one that was blown, but when we went to turn the receiver back on it blew the fuse like there might be a short. The fuse is located by the transformer. The two 8amp/125v fuses located directly behind the transformer blew. I replaced them, and upon turning the unit back on, they blew again. What could be the issue. Bad conductor maybe?

Shorted power supply/module is most likely problem.

Why is my GE Advantium SCA2001 blowing the main fuse?

Yeah pal, you've not gone deep enough yet. You'll find a power wire bare inside the unit, pull it apart and tape that wire up to stop it from grounding out and blowing the fuse.

#9 20a fuse in the power distribution box is blown, put new one tried to crank and blew it again

If this fuse only blows when you crank the engine then this would tell me the starter is shorting out and blowning the fuse. make sure to check it by replacing the fuse and turning the key on without cranking the engine and if the fuse doesnt blown then crank the engine and if the fuse blows then its the starter, replace the starter and this will take care of the problem.good day and hope this is helpful.

MY PS3 WONT TURN BACK ON

Hi,
Either power supply problem or blown surface mount fuse on the main board. First check all SMD fuses on the main board, and the fuse on the power supply board. If the power supply board fuse has blown replace it and try again, if it blows again you need to replace the power supply. If the power supply seems OK check all SMD fuses on the main board. There are 7 on the V3 and about a dozen on the V4 / V5 / V6.
Good luck...

Fuse replaced but blows againwhen remote clicked for CT32SL14

This is a problem with the main poiwer supply. It could be simply a shorted rectifier diode or more complex. Without taking measurements inside the set or at least seeing what the condition is of the board, there is little we can do to help. This unit shoul dbe brought to a service shop with a request for a detailed estimate. Armed with that info, we should be able to guide you through the actual repair. Expect to pay $50 or more for the estimate.

Sony STR-D565 fuse continues to blow

You could have a shorted winding in the power transformer. The diodes in the power supply can be shorted. Filter capacitors can short and send power to ground which will blow the fuse.

This condition, may be produced by defective components (Q506, Q507). you can remove those transistor, replace the fuses, power-on and wait for relays click. if the fuses not blown again, them replace both transistor.

Stuck protector mode

find out why the fuse blew in the first place.the protector is just PROTECTING the main circuits of the receiver.the receiver turns on just to confirm the power circuit is OK.
