LP gas conversion oven flame to big

I just bought a newer "Kenmore" Gas range. my probem is it is set up for natural gas and i use LP gas. Well it came with the LP gas conversion kit. I followed the directions carefully and the range-top burners seem fine but when i go to use the oven the glowing igniter works and when the gas valve opens the flames are i belive to big. They reach into the oven area through the ovens bottom vents. The instructions have me turning down the "Spud" on the "Oven burner orifice" counter-clockwise until snug against the "LP/propane metering pin" arund two and a half turns. I dont want to break it but you really cant see the top of the lpgas metering pin. Any help would be great Carlos Nunez

Preformed the Natural to LP conversion but the oven flames are to high

Part of the conversion would include screwing the oven gas valve orifice clockwise until snug. Then adjusting the air shutter to achieve the best flame.
Were these steps done?

Remember this: Crank down and flip. You must tighten down all the top and the oven valve orifices and open all the hutters and flip the nut on the regulator. crank down and flip.

Yellow flame after an Lp conversion

I remember having a stove with an adjustable orifice in the oven. It looked like a double nut arrangement. If that is what you find, tightening them to each other shrinks the size. Should turn fairly easy, do not force. You may also find a pilot adjustment behind the oven control knob. Hope this helps.

Gas range burner flame too high and too yellow.

Did it work OK in that location before the changes?
Sounds like you used Natural gas parts instead of LP.
Lp orifices have smaller holes than Nat.

Flames in oven are WAY too high! Having trouble lowering them.

Did you change the orifice in the regulator? The orifice opening for LP is a different diameter than the opening for Natural Gas. If you've already attempted changing the settings from Natural to LP, you may want to double check the orifice under the regulator cap, or...you may have a regulator problem. You will need to turn the gas off prior to attempting this. The regulator will be located in the back of the oven somewhere near where the gas line connects to the stove. There is a gas orifice that needs to be turned over to change gas settings. "LP" should be present if it is set correctly. Let me know if this helps.

Changed from natural gas to propane when new oven flames up the side top burners ok

Just bought a Kenmore and did this conversion myself. You do not change the oven nozzle (jets) but have to wrench it down with a 1/2" wrench as per instructions. After I did this the falme was high as you described. I wrenched it down further and adjusted the air shuttle and it was fine. The brioler is done the same. The wrench adjustment is tight so be aware.
