Question about Starbucks Saeco Italia Digital Barista Coffee Machine
Make sure you try to prime right when the machine is turned on, so that there is no boiler pressure making it more difficult to prime.

Before leaving the machine in storage for extended period, it should be descaled to remove Calcium in the water that is still inside the hydraulic system.
When machine is taken out of storage & used again the pump and hydraulic system is totally dry. A pump is not designed to pump air. It needs priming.
A dry Pump will be louder indication that there is no water in the pump. In most cases flushing some water by turning water knob open will dispense water and machine can be used. When a pump is dry and not able to pump, it becomes necessary to manually feed a few drops of water to bring the pump to function.
Manual priming pump means forcing a few drops of water using a syringe or a Turkey baster. If this is not working, then a more specific pump supplied by Saeco can be used. Link for manual priming instructions is attached.

Don't buy espresso machines. They don't keep a manual database on line and keep changing models
