Have you attempted to locate a memory cache feature in your system's BIOS just to ensure that there is no such feature enabled preventing Windows from installing?

That error is your partition manager, Go to this site and download Partition Magic

http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/

This normally happens when you have got more that 1 partition on your hdd....

Try Partition Magic, and see if resolves your problem

Good luck

What is BIOS caching and shadowing in computers? please give a link for its definition and what is it use for? i guess it's related to ''Blue Screen stop error''

I assume that you are talking about going into the setup screen at the startup of the computer. Bios shadowing usually refers to the video bios which when enabled allows it to be copied to the system dram for better performance. Bios caching enables segments of the system bios to be cached to main memory for faster execution. Cached essentially means saved to. As for the blue screen stop error- I refer to this as the Blue Screen of Death because usually the only way to fix it is by reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling the operating system. Hopefully this was a little helpful. Good Luck.

This usually happens when u fit any hardware to the system....The information which u gave seems its "Blue Screen of Death" or "BSOD" ........ if u have seen this screen only after u plugged in yr HDD, try with other HDD. Perhaps there might be an error with the HDD which u have plugged in.

Well if it does that you should make sure all media is unplugged from the computer. If you have the Windows XP Original Release disk insert it and re-install Windows XP. If still says the same error "operating system not found" take it to a computer specialist near you or go on another computer and contact www.microsoft.com, thats all I can say.

Operating sysmtem not found. Cannot re-install either. Blue screen saying to disable shadowing and cacheing in BIOS!!! Cannot access F8. Installed new hard drive and the same message.

If you have a new hard drive,it must be formatted and the OS must be reinstalled upon it. You are getting this error because there is no OS on it currently, according to what you are telling us here.

thanks for using FixYa.com

Will removing the CMOS battery clear the BIOS

it's about the processor level caches
but also might be a bad memory slot (RAM)

resetting the bios is a good choice, maybe this will helpe either

Hi There,

I just experienced the same problem you did concerning the partmgr.sys blue screen error. I am installing Windows XP Pro SP2 on a pretty old Dell Latitude LS (upgrading it from Win 2000). The XP installation disk gives me the option to format in NTFS, FAT, and both formats in a "quick" mode. I usually do not recommend using the quick mode, however, after trying both NTFS and FAT and receiving the blue screen, I decided to try NTFS (quick). That has allowed me to actually get further into the installation, so you may want to try that.

Why Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing ? and how to disable it in bios ?

This particular error would typically indicate a problem with memory mapping associated with a peripheral device. I was unable to locate a hit for okfu53.sys, but most likely this is a device driver of some type. The instruction to disable cache is a holdover from old hardware and operating systems and is most likely not actually applicable- however by disabling it is just two areas that are memory users that you don't need at that point. Frankly I would just reboot. If you see it again reinstall the video drivers.

Can you boot into safe mode? You can access safe mode by pressing F8 before the windows logo appears on start up.If you can access safe mode without any errors, then the problem is likely to be caused by a driver.Let me know what happens.
