Rewind button stuck - Canon EOS Rebel G 35mm SLR Camera

Try a very light lubricant on it.

Put the camera in a change bag open it then manually rewind the film. From there you may be able to free the button. If the button continues to be stuck here is something worth trying that I have seen others do with stuck buttons and aperture blades. To the button add a few drops of lighter fluid let it soak in. Sounds crazy yes, however sometimes that will dissolve gunk buildup freeing the button. That trick works wonders on stuck aperture blades; actually a common practice at repair shops.

This is a solenoid controlled deck. INITIALLY I'd say your rewind button is stuck in the pushed position. sometimes dirt, grease, smoke narrow the clearance between the buttons. THEN I'd say the relay that controls the solenoid is stuck in the engaged position. THIRDLY I say the solenoid ITSELF has some metal filings or dirt in IT, and it is jammed. Let me know

Try cocking the shutter with the camera back open, if that does not pop up the rewind button the camera may need service and lubrication.

Take your camera to photo developer who has the dark room. They will open your camera in dark room and remove the film without any damage to it. Once film is out you can see whats actually the problem, it can be gear tooth misaligned or something.

This usually means the cord got twisted over itself. Pull it completely out and give slight resistance on cord and rewind it again.

The solution is to reset it by forcing a rewind operation. Just press the two rewind buttons simultaneously: on the left side of the lens and just behind the shutter release. (They are marked and the manual explains how to force a rewind.) I did exactly this, and my next roll of film loaded without problems." Hope that help you folks.

It can definitely be fixed but let's try one thing before forking over few bucks to technician. Assuming it is a SLR camera, When you rewind, hold the rewind knob pushed in and try it. Maybe the rewinding button is stuck, release it, i had the same problem but onlt the 7 button was stuck.
