Question about Holmes Products HM5080-U2 Humidifier
I have a HM5081TG Humidifier, which has an automatic shut off feature. When the humidifier is empty the reset light is illuminated, and the humidifier automatically shuts off. I have refilled the humidifier following an automatic shut-off; however, the reset light turns on every time I turn on the humidifier and the humidifier will not work (i.e. heat the water and humidify the room). The reset light just remains on every time I turn on the humidifier and nothing happens. What can I do?
I'm sure you've read the instructions, but in case you've misplaced or forgot them, to reset the "reset" you have to unplug the humidifier for 5 minutes. The steps are:
1. Turn knob to "reset." 2. Unplug the unit. 3. Refill and replace tank on unit. 4. Wait 5 minutes. 5. Plug unit in and turn knob to "high."
If that doesn't turn the reset light out, re-do all 5 steps.
Hope this helps.

Reset the unit once it is refilled by pushing the power button and holding it down for 5 seconds before releasing. This should reset your unit to factory settings.

If your humidifier is equipped with a Digital Humidifier Control with Water
Panel change indicator, after replacing the Water Panel, turn the control
knob to the "Test/Reset" position until the "Humidifier On" light blinks to
reset its timer. (Blower must be operating and HVAC calling for heat.) Be sure
to turn the control knob back to it's original setting. If the "Humidifier On"
light continues to blink, your humidifier is in Test mode. DO NOT LEAVE THE
CONTROL IN TEST MODE OR HUMIDIFIER WILL NOT OPERATE.
