How to install an Alpine DVD unit into my BMW E46 M3 convertible

Providing it fits the aperture properly the only thing you may need is a special jumper cable harness that links the BMW euro standard harness to your player. Its possible the harness is right anyway but be prepared.

Reversing camera wiring diagram

Need a bit more info, is the sender your talking about a screen? or do you have a in dash dvd player that Your trying to hook up? The hook up is pretty straightforward, video cable from the camera goes to your video source, power is connected to your reverse light that you can find using a test light and putting the car in reverse with the key on and motor not running. and then a ground wire. if its a in dash dvd player you will need the switch wire connected to the reverse light as well so it knows to turn the video on to the feed from the camera. hope this helps.I have had much more luck on for car audio and video issues.

There is a good chance that your model of vehicle has its own amplifier and if it does then it will have to be by-passed. As i am not very familiar with American vehicles i can't tell you exactly which harness or adapter you need to purchase. As for the unit staying on without the Ignition on: Switch over the red wire with the yellow wire and the yellow with the red. That should solve it. The 2 blue wires are: solid blue for power antenna and blue with stripe for remote turn on for external amplifier. The Pink is cellular phone mute.

Car amplifier has been removed, it was obviously in the trunk hooked up to nine speakers, etc. I just bought the car and there is a pioneer cd player and a seperate cd/dvd player under the passenger side...

I will assume that none of those wires are marked, thus leaving you with the cumbersome task of tracing each wire to its place of origin and properly marking them.

I will also assume that you have a standard hardware configuration whereas the in-dash head unit serves as an input selector and pre-amp for your aux.CD/DVD unit.

A possible shortcut would be to first identify the two power leads( one is a constant 12+ volts & one is a switched 12+ volts that is a remote power lead from the head unit) and the ground that was ran to the missing amp, mark and separate those from the group. Then with a test speaker trial and error those remaining signal (speaker) wires with the in-dash CD player on and loaded so as to find that units signal outputs (there may be more then one pair) You will need to identify left and right output signal pairs by adjusting the head units L & R control and marking those wires accordingly. Next with a pair of signal leads with output, temporarily connect them to all of the other unidentified signal pairs as to determine its speaker and marking them accordingly. At this point you should be able to make your left and right speaker connections.

Note: it will be wise to have a DC voltage tester to check for the missing amp power leads and signal polarity especially if you plan to install a new amp.

I hope this sheds a little light on your problem.

Good luck

Eclipse CD2000 has no sound from a cd or sirius... radio works

If you have an amplifier hooked up make sure that the correct blue wire on the harness is connected. One of the wires is the remote amp turn-on, the other is for a power antenna. That would be why your radio plays through your speakers, the power antenna wire' when the source is set to radio, sends a 12 volt signal. That would turn on your amp if thats the way that its hooked up.
