It probably needs a belt. Changing the belt on a dryer is a pretty simple job if you have some mechanical aptitude. The new belt is around $20 and you can save a good bit over a service call if you can try it yourself. Here is a website with good illustrated instructions as well as parts. You can also do a search on Google for "replacing belt" and your particular make and model for more information.
