Question about Weiser Lock Powerbolt 1000 Lock

Won't accept new code

Out of the blue, it started beeping, some long, some short.. replaced batteries with 2 successive sets of new AAs - now it won't allow new code to be entered. When number on keypad is touched, it doesn't always beep.

  • Take out batteries and unplug powerstrip.
  • Let it sit for 1 minute, then put the batteries back in and wait another minute.
I contacted customer support... they tell me the FAQ information on their own website is incorrect. The opposite is true, therefore the following is correct:
  • If it does not beep, the powerboard needs to be replaced
  • If the unit continues to beep, the keypad needs to be replaced
Here in Canada, they will send you a new one within 3-5 days free of charge. Call customer support:

Sounds like the CPU may not be seated properly, did you remove the processor when you replaced the cooler (Heatsync I assume you mean)?
Try powering down and unplugging. removing the heat sync removing the processor. Re-seating the processor making sure it falls into place. then re add the thermal paste(if needed) and heat sync. Check the memory and video card to make sure they are firmly in and then power back on and see if it will boot.
Another thing you can do is check your motherboards manual or website and there is a description of "beep codes" that you can listen for yours and see exactly what its telling you is wrong.

I use aa battery's in my camera but they only take 5 to 10 pics at a time.......is this normal or is something wrong like maybe a setting or something? what should i do to fix this?


Digital cameras in general use a lot of battery power; this one in particular is noted for short battery life. When it was new, this camera was supplied with a Lithium Ion battery for longer life; if you're using regular AAs, the battery life will be disappointing. Oh, and cheap batteries from the dollar store might not even work at all!

The most cost effective solution is probably high capacity NiMH rechargeable batteries; get a set of four so that you can have spares on hand. If even that isn't acceptable, look into getting the Lithium Ion one.

If you bought this camera used, the short battery life could easily be the reason the original owner got frustrated with it.

I am getting three short beeps while booting

You really aren't giving much info, so here are some beep - codes, also make sure nothing came loose on the motherboard or other components ( do this ONLY if you know how ) Safety first.

Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 short beep codes on cold boot. Tried reseating RAM, didn't help. system runs fine after beeping stops


Using the manual for the Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 MB. Go to page 71 & you'll see bios beep codes for your board: AWARD BIOS Beep Codes 1 short: System boots successfully 2 short: CMOS setting error 1 long 1 short: DRAM or M/B error 1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card error 1 long 3 short: Keyboard error 1 long 9 short: BIOS ROM error Continuous long beeps: DRAM error Continuous short beeps: Power error As you can see there isn't a code for three short beeps. When you boot your system try to pause your boot up screen. See if the bios is reporting the correct total of memory in your system. Go to memtest.org Scroll down the site to just under the three screen shots. Download Memtest86+ V2.11 You have a choice in making a bootable floppy disk or a bootable CD-ROM disk. Alert system battery voltage low (Beep Beep)


Three possible:

1 does new battery test good?

2 is battery inserted properly (backwards)?

3 do U clean the battery holder with a pencil eraser?
