I cannot see the problem because if the ignition is switched off the dash lights will go off and the car will not start. That is normal. If what you are try say is that when the jumper is removed the car stops and the dash lights go out then the problem will be a dead battery.. Have a load test done to check for a dead cell

Yes the key needs to be reprogramed to the car. Unfortunately that will have to be done by the dealer. Make sure that you have plenty of proof that you are the owner. They will reprogram it but you will not take posession of the car until you prove it is yours.

Could be your alternator. If you can get it started again. Try to have the alternator checked out.

SOURCE: 1999 chrysler concorde. 131K mi.

Hello Kurtzuba.

Actually, although rare, this could be a computer issue.
The voltage regulator is built into the computer on your Concorde and may not be completing the circuit.

I'm not sure how you verified the alternator is good other than you removed it and had it tested.

To verify the problem is in the computer, find the orange/dark green wire that supplies power to the alternator.
This is fused power to the field. Verify it has 12.5 volts positive. If not, that will need to be repaired.

If it is OK, then find the dark green wire that also hooks to the alternator.
This wire leads to the computer which controls the amount of ground to regulate the amount of output from the alternator stator.
Attach a wire with an alligator clip to the dark green wire terminal on the alternator.
Attach a voltmeter to the battery.
Start the car and touch the other end of the attached wire for a few seconds (no more than a minute) to the NEGATIVE battery terminal.
If the alternator begins to charge you will need to verify the green wire is good to the computer.
If OK, replace the computer.

If you need more assistance with this issue, let me know here.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Lights left on and the battery went flat on my lads peugeot 206 diesel 2002 recharged battery, the car will not start message on dash ECO MODE CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THE PROBLEM PROBLEM ?

Economy mode usually comes on when the computer senses a low charge on the battery and conserves power to start the vehicle.
1. If you can start the car by jump starting from another vehicle with its engine running then you know your battery is the problem. In some cases when you completely drain a battery you have issues with them ever after until they fail completely.

2. If you cannot jump start from another vehicle then turn everything off and disconnect the negative and then the positive lead on the battery terminals and leave it for 10 minutes. Then connect it back up again (positive lead first and then negative lead last) and put the key in the ignition and turn on the ignition but do not start the car. Leave it there for 5 minutes and then turn the ignition it off. Then try starting again.

3. You have not mentioned if there are any other warning lights being displayed on the dash which you have not mentioned in your question. Please check this carefully because it is also relevant to this problem if there are other warning lights displayed.

Immobilizer reset switch

Disconnect the battery terminals and jumper the positive and negative leads together. This will completely drain the computer and it will have to reset itself as it comes up. Leave the jumper on the leads for an hour or so. When you reconnect the battery, your problem might fix itself.

I have a problem with a 2008 Dodge Charger, my battery went bad and I had to jump it off to take it and get a new battery put in but now my new battery won't start my car not even when the new battery...

When you jump started the vehicle, it started as normal and you drove to a shop to have a new battery installed.?? Correct??

1. Who removed the old battery and installed the new one?

2. Did the car start normally immediately after the new battery was fitted? How frequently were you able to drive the car on the new battery before the problem you described appeared?

3. Has anything been done to the vehicle since the new battery was fitted.?

Car wont charge battery with new alt. and no shorts in wires.

YOU should have 2 leads to rear of the altenator, the large goes to the battery and starter lead the small is the one that supplys power to the light in the dash, hence with out that the altenator does not know when to switch on, as you changed the alt then it is the small feed at fault, check all fuses and replace it may just be a bad connection, also check wires at back of the ignition switch
