Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

Screen Problems with HP laptop

Pavilion DV 6404 screen still comes on but suddenly there is a large black spot (shaped like the milky way galaxy) in top center of screen and emanating from that spot is a series of multicolored lines that cover the top right quarter of screen. A similar set of lines emanates for the black spot and creates a two inch wide path to the bottom of the screen. Is this the LCD screen, the inverter or the video chip? Or some combination thereof. The screen doesn't go black, so I'm not sure if this is covered under HP extended/enhanced warranty.

My HP Pavilion dv9000 Laptop powers up but screen stays black. Keyboard lights up and you can here the computer running.

Connect it to an external monitor to see if it shows video. If it does the display panel needs to be replaced. If it doesn't show video the video card is most likely malfunctioning. The HP dv series are bad about having video problems due to heat and depleted thermal grease.Hopefully it will show video on the external monitor.

Pavilion Laptop Screen Problem

It sounds like your screen was man-handled. You will need to replace the screen. You can sometimes buy them used online or you can get a new one from HP. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello, I have a problem with hp pavilion dv

Try lowering your display settings when it is hooked up to the external monitor. Then try the laptop screen again.
Right click an open area of the desktop, select properties, click the display tab. In the lower left of the box there is a settings slider, try lowering the settings and see if it gets better.

Black screen when the hp dv7 stratup

Contact HP. There are known issues with the DV line of laptops. They die......seriously. Ask them if the problem qualifies your laptop for a "one time warranty enhancement". They might just fix it free as there are known problems with the DV series.

Hope this helps! Post a comment if not and I'll see if I can help.

There is few reason. Either your one of RAM is defective. Try both memory one by one. Even though if U don't see screen than its time to change motherboard.

Display is not coming , black screen is there

If you get zero display at all check if you can hook up an external monitor first to determine if problem is with screen or video card.
If display can barely be seen that is practically black but you can just see it in bright light check brightness levels of screen i cranking them up fails then you need a new screen backlight. Talk with hp about repair.

HP Pavilion dv6337us screen problem

Place you cursor on a blank spot on the black area, Hold the left mouse/touchpad button down and drag it back down to the bottom of the screen. That should get you back to where you want things to be.
If that fixes it, please return here to rank this as solved. If it doesn't, let me know and we'll see what else we can come up with. ;o)
