Question about Televison & Video

Have 2005 WD-62528, clean filter,good lamp, but have small randomized red, blue purple blotches apparently being projected on the rear of the screen. They don't move with the images so I suspect possible foreign deposits on one or more of the lens elements... how do I get to them and to clean them?

    I understand what you're saying about the cleaning process... but beyond access to the rear lens at the removable light module (which I've already cleaned as you suggested)... we've yet to address the particulars of GETTING TO the light engine and lens assemblies in a non destructive access sequence on the 2005 Mitsubishi WD-62528. Particulars?...

    Beyond the air filter and lamp access doors on a 2005 Mitsubishi WD-62528 DLP TV...how does one access the lenses and light engine non-destructively, to access and clean the rear of the screen and other optics?

I strongly advise against opening a lens for any reason. You may not be able to put it back together!
In most cases issue is with some dust on the external lenses.
For cleaning the outside surfaces of lenses, lens tissue and lens cleaning fluid is fine. Both are available at camera shops. The fine camel-hair brush and air-blower-squezzer combo also works great.
If you suspect that issue is with internal components use compressed air to clean that.
Let me know is this will not resolve the issue

Hi, this may be as a result of missing pixels which are common problems when dealing with televisions

as an example here is a link showing how to deal with missing pixels on a lcd monitor:
>http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor

this is an article on missing pixels
>http://news.cnet.com/Consumers-see-red-over-dead-pixels/2100-1041_3-5579493.html

I would say that if this is the problem then you have the option of trying to get it fixed, replaced or return the item.

I hope i have helped you, sorry if i didnt

Good luck!

Yellow and purple blotchs on screen

This is because the coolant in the projectors is bad. You can have a service man replace the coolant and should have a good picture again. Don't try this your self it is real messy and the coolant is corrosive so if you get it on one of the boards it will eat it up.

I have yellow and purple blotches on screen

I had this same problem on my Mitsubishi rear projection WD52527 model television. The optic engine was changed twice, and the blotches were still there. It turned out that it was the mirror inside the television that was causing the purple blotches. It was filthy and once the repairman took it out and cleaned it the discolorations were gone. Hope this helps

Purple blotches on Mitsubishi WD 52527

yes you can clean it. i clean mine all the time. after you remove the screws at the bottom you should be able to just lift it up. it will be hard be cause there is sticky tape with a hinge that the hole screen sould just lift off. i know it doesnt feel like it but it will. just do one side at a time. now the problem with the purple spots are because you move a speaker to close to the front of the tv the was not shielded and cause it to do this. you can move the tv so that the earths magnetic field will restore it for you. make sure the tv is not plugged in when you move it for 2 to 3 days . after the 2 to 3 days plug tv back in and leave on for 2 hours. after this you can move it back and plug back in. this should fix it. if not you will need it to be degoudged. tv repair center can do this at your home. hope this help you.... thanks eddy

Light purple spots on my screen

Unfortunately, this sounds like a problem with your TV's lamp. They are not cheap to fix. Search Ebay for a new lamp and get someone to install it for you. These Mitsubishis have a design flaw that make the lamps burn out quickly.
One thing that will PREVENT this problem is making sure that the TV's vents are clean.

Random, intermittant blue lines

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
