1. If you are using the composite video output, double check that your
antenna is connected to the converter's antenna input and not the
output.
2. If you are in a remote area that gets signals through translators, there might not be any digital signals to receive.
Is the antenna connected to the input of the converter box? There should
be a screw on connector on the back, the antenna connects there.
If you have the antenna connected properly, have set the conveter to
scan for channels, and you were able to watch TV with the rabbit ears
before you got the box, the box may be defective....!!
I understand you have;
Toshiba 36" analog tv, Tivax converter box, RCA Digital Flat amplified antenna.
You want to get signal over the air; Connect the antenna to the Tivax converter box. Connect the Tivax Converter box to the input for the TV.
Turn on the antenna, Converter box and TV. You should get a menu on the tv screen. Follow the instructions and SCAN in the channels in your area by using the converter box remote.
You can see your channels by going to www.tvfool.com and entering your information.
The converter box needs an antenna so it can tune the channels, but it doesn't have to be the antenna that's built into the TV. In fact, you'll get better reception if you use an antenna designed for the new DTV broadcasts. Several types are available at stores where they sell TVs, and they start at under $10.
Then you'll need to connect the converter box output to the TV so you can tune it in on channel 3 or 4. I'm not familiar with your Jensen set, but I've never seen a TV without some kind of connector for an external antenna. The most common type on small TV's is a jack similar to an earphone jack. Radio Shack sells an adapter that plugs in and allows you to connect the cable from the converter box. Take the set with you if necessary so you can find what you need.
first of all does your television and/or vcr have a cable connector and/or a set of rca outlets? if they have a cable connection in the back all you have to do is hook the cable from the antenna to the "in from antenna" on your cable box and then connect a cable from "out to tv" to "in from antenna" on the vcr and a cable from "out to tv" on the vcr to "in from antenna" on the tv. then you need to make sure on the converter box and the vcr and look for a channel selector and see what channel they are on. most vcr's have a selector for either channel 3 or 4, look at what channel it is set to and if your converter box has the same thing then match it with the vcr. then tune your tv to that channel and you should be able to work your vcr as long as the vcr/tv button shows that you are on the vcr. now if your tv and/or vcr have rca outlets and your converter box has the same then just hook the cable from the antenna to the cable box and substitute the rca cable for the regular cable and tune your tv to video or line input.
if you have the coax cable connections correctly connected , coax out to tv from box and antenna hooked to antenna in on the box then you may have to connect the RCA jacks, yellow = video , red = right audio , white = left or mono audio
because on these boxes you can choose in the menu to have the coax ( channel 3 or 4 ) as the output or the rca jacks ( line out )as the output . so the menu may be set for the rca jack connections untill you change it in the menu
