Question about Computers & Internet

All videos dont play

All videos wont play?? Whenever I try to watch any youtube video while I'm at home, about 40 seconds worth of video loads and then it stops. When I go to work and try the same videos, they work just fine. Mind you, I bring my laptop to and from work and home. So I know its not java, flash, antivirus, firewall, etc. causing an issue since I change nothing between work and home. I've also tried clearing the cache, updating java, and uninstalling/reinstalling flash. None of the above worked for me. I'm actually having the same issue with myspace music. Any ideas?

I do have wireless running but my connection runs good.  All pages load fast with no issues.  I called AT&T and they told me to try to contact web developers at youtube but I don't think it's their page.  If it was infact their page, then I'd have a problem regardless of my location.

I have at&t dsl service.  I'm using opera but I have tried it on IE and FF.  I have the same results on all of the browsers. I use no web accelerators or anything like that.  And yes, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash along with adjusting the firewall settings and checking my other media apps.  Everything appears to be cool as far as the software goes.  Any ideas as to what may be causing this at the house?

Could it be your wireless connection? That is if you have wireless. If you do, I had the same problem. It would say full strength connection, yet still it would load slowly. If so, I would suggest ringing your internet provider. If you have built in internet, I have no idea. Sorry.

    This might be it...

Do you have the stupid Google Web Accelerator? If so, then
dump it, burn it, trash it, disable it, get rid of it, uninstall it --
do everything you can to get as far away from it as possible.
Trying to bypass GWA with "Don't Accelerate this Website"
will not help you whatsoever. That being said.....

If YouTube is slow or stuck, and you get advice from people
to install, change or update things:....DON'T. Your computer
and YouTube were working perfectly fine before, right?

It's never a good idea to go fooling around with java scripts,
firewall settings, flash players, antivirus utilities, registries,
pop-up blockers, different browsers, or things like that.

The first and best option should ALWAYS be: don't disable,
erase, uninstall, separate, alter, download, install or change
anything. Doing those will only make matters worse for you.
(Of course, you should get rid of GWA.)

Sorry to keep posting things =[

This is what YouTube says will help, I don't know if my help above will work better or not, but who knows.

    1. Please completely uninstall the version of Flash you're currently running, before upgrading to the most recent version. To uninstall Flash, follow Adobe's instructions, listed here.

    1. Once you've uninstalled the older version of Flash, you'll be ready to upgrade to the most recent version of Flash. To do so, please follow these steps:

    2. restart your computer
    3. follow Adobe's instructions for reinstalling the most recent version of Flash.
    4. Once you've downloaded the latest version of Adobe Flash, please exit your browser.
    5. Finally click to install the update that you just downloaded from the Adobe Flash site.
Once you've done so, open your browser again and go to YouTube. You should now be able so successfully watch videos!

  • If the instructions above don't resolve the issue, please also try the following:

    1. Temporarily disable popup blocking software installed on your computer to test.
    2. Allow as a trusted site in your Firewall software.
    3. Ensure other applications like Quicktime, iTunes, Real Player, or Windows Media Player aren't set as the default streaming application, as this might affect the video player.

    For Windows Vista users:
If the Flash uninstall / reinstall does not work this maybe due to a Microsoft Windows Vista permissions issue.

Please use the Windows button at the bottom left then the search function:

    • Go to: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\.
    • Right-click on the following file: FlashUtil9b.exe or FlashUtil9e.exe.
    • Select "Run as Administrator" and install the update..
    • Restart your computer.

I just realised that none of these will probably help, not my experience or youtubes. It's because i forgot that you can view itt at work.

if that's so, it must b something at your home doing it.

I have a 19:11 second video that i edited using the youtube capture app on my ipad, posted it to youtube, only showed 2 minutes of it (possibly because My channel wasn't authorized to post a long vide

It sounds like that when you first uploaded the video to YouTube they put in an embedded code to make it stop at 2:40. I think the answer is to get the file imported into a video editing software and remove that code. However this will depend on what format the file is. YouTube video's tend to use FLV files which most editing software will not import. Converting the file might also import only the 2:40 version. But it's still worth a try. You should be able to get conversion software free. If you don't have a video editor have a look on Amazon for one. Most of them will import video's at high quality to YouTube and will be better than YouTube editing stuff.

My youtube keeps cutting off and starting form the beginning on my samsung S3!

If a video doesn't play continuously (it stops and starts while you're watching), or stops early, try these troubleshooting steps:
Check your internet connection. You'll need a broadband connection with at least 500 Kbps for the best viewing experience.
Change the video quality to a lower setting to see if the video begins to load.
Pause the video, then change the quality. Allow the gray bar at the bottom of the player to load. Try playing the video again.
If the video still doesn't load, clear your browser's cache and cookies and try viewing the video again.

I want to get my videos noticed by a mass audience on youtube

If you are trying to expand viewer ship of your youtube videos, there is no easy solutions. But the key to having a popular video is "content". No matter how much publicity you put out for your video, it wont reach critical mass unless the public will recognize it as "it is worth watching"
This bring to mind the success story of one video called "Where the Hell is Matt". It is a simple video created by Matt Harding and his friends specifically for fun and to let Matt's parent where he's been.
Here's a few tips to get you started:
1.You can attach links of your video to your FACEBOOK page, or TWITTER or any social networking.
2.Avoid having redundant copies of your video, cause this will half your HITS.
3.Tag your video, tagging your video helps you friends and future viewers find your video when search randomly.
    4. Make your videos clear and non irritating so 1st time viewers won't tune off.
    5. Make your video short and sweet. Long videos are boring and difficult to load.
    6. Keep it simple. The most complex question are solved by simple solution. example. DONT GO HD, a simple 320x240 is a faster load. faster load video has more hits.
    7.Funny Sells.
8.Be patient.... spread you video through different sites, the more people you reach the more people will watch.

My Psp dont let me watch youtube videos

Long explanation short, you can't. Youtube requires Adobe Flash Player, which is something used on Windows, Mac OSX, and other unix based operating systems such as Linux.

There is not a PSP version, so you might as well give up. You wont be able to watch any youtube videos.
