You need a bit more info to do the above steps...

To reset the Maintenance Counter, you will need to go to the Configuration Menu (at the printer display screen).
Perform the following steps:
Step 1. Turn the Lexmark X464 printer off.
Step 2. On the display keypad, hold the 2 and 6 buttons together while turning the printer back on. (Don't release the buttons yet until about 10 seconds has passed.)
Step 4. On your Operator Panel, you should then see Configuration Menu.
Step 5. Scroll down and select Reset Maint Count.
Step 6. Exit Config Menu and restart your printer (turn it off, then back on).

My apologies for placing a brand name on the instructions for resetting the Maintenance Counter. This fix works on many different ypes of printers: IBM Infoprint, Lexmark, etc.; instructions may or may not work for your situation.

Just replaced the fuser maintenance kit. How do you reset the fuser counter? It still shows 0% left even after turning the printer off.

It all depends on which model printer you have, which you didn't specify. Normally fusers don't need to be reset though. Search the manufacturer's website to see if you can find the manual, which should contain information on how to reset consumable counters.

There is a great video that shows step by step how to install the fuser, transfer roller, charge roller, pick up tires and then reset the 80 Scheduled maintenance message

Maint kit install and page count

Pretty easy, the maintenance kit consists of a transfer roller (black roller that sits underneath toner cartridge), charge roller (sits above toner cartridge), fuser (rear of printer behind two plastic covers), and paper feed rollers. The maintenance kit should have details with diagrams.

To reset
To reset the Maintenance counter, turn off the printer.
Press and hold both Select & Return while powering on the printer.
Hold until display reads 'Performing Self Test" then let go of the buttons.
If the printer displays "80 Maintenance Due" Press the Go Key.
Press the right Menu Key and scroll to Reset Maintenance Counter.
Press the Select Key. Press the Select Key again to reset the counter.
When the reset operation is complete, press the right Menu key to exit Configuration Menu and press Select.
Printer will save the settings, IPL and come back to Ready.
