Question about BenQ T701 TFT 17" LCD Monitor

Monitor MELTED after black screen!

We've had a problem with it every now and then displaying a black screen, after being shut off for a while it would come back on, the other day though we ran out and forgot to shut it off and when we came home we had a black screen. We thought it was the computer itself since we've had a few issues with it but when I went to see if the cords were hooked in tight and properly I grabbed the top left hand corner to tip it forwards and MY HAND SUNK INTO IT! The thing was so hot it melted, thank goodness it didn't start a fire, IMHO if you are having the black screen issue with it be VERY VERY CAREFUL with it and shut it off when you are not around or better yet get a new monitor!

It is also possible that your previously dormant mutant powers are now being expressed. This would explain everything from the monitor not working (perhaps you are radiating some type of energy field) to your hand sinking into an otherwise solid looking object (maybe the beginning stages of being able to walk through solid objects or an ability to produce intense heat). In any case, I would recommend you buy a new monitor since your newfound abilities have damaged this one and also, recommend that you sleep with fire resistant bedding.

Why does screen go black after a few seconds

Hope this helps.... Your monitor has an inverter issue. You know it's an inverter problem when:
1. Your monitor starts normally and displays the startup/desktop screen for a while.
2. Then it suddenly goes off, leaving a blank (black) screen or a very dim display.

To fix this black screen problem, change the inverter board (based on your monitor brand).

Benq monitor black bar

you monitor has an Auto Config button, push it. Or go into the screen menu (buttons on monitor) and find the auto setting there. If that doesn't work, check your display properties and make sure you desktop is set to the same size as you computer screen.

You probably need to install a display driver for this monitor on your netbook. http://us.aoc.com/monitor_displays/e950swn

Asus crosshair socket am2 motherboard not booting

Sounds like your monitor is bad. Try another monitor because if the video card was bad and the monitor is working you would get a No Signal message on the screen. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok, then your original monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does the same as your original monitor and does not display anything, then there is an issue with your video card.

Video mode not supported..how do I get it off of that?

This means you've selected a screen resolution that your monitor is not able to display. Power cycle the computer, and immediately start pressing F8 repeatedly until it brings you to a white text on black menu, select "Enable VGA Mode" and the computer will start up in a very low resolution. You can then go into your display properties and adjust the resolution to a higher resolution that your monitor does support. Review the monitor user's guide to determine the supported screen resolutions.

Monitor flashes on then goes black.

I think you have the display shut off. the button on the bottom left will shut screen off. It will come on for a few seconds if you touch the screen, but will shut off again. just push the display button again and it should stay on.
