Cig power/3.5 jack problem

When i plug in cig lighter power cord and run 3.5 jack into car audio aux jack the female end of fuze acts up but once i unplug power cord fuze works perfectly. i have exchanged fuze for new one and same result. i have also swapped power cig plug and 3.5 wire. as long as power and 305 jacks are plugged in at the same time i get crappy sound if any sound at all. if i unplug 3.5 jack halfway it seems to work fine..help, i need a valium and three buds to make this headache go away.

ipodslinger: No, I have swapped 3.5 cord 3 times and same result. what is also odd is if i plug in a headphone it works fine in headphones. i personally feel there's something wacky going on between the power cord and the 3.5 jack. as i said, this is my 3rd fuze so its not that either.

is it possible that the headphone jack or the rca jack cord could be damaged. the unplug and pull out half way sorta tells me that when the jack makes connection with another part of the jack it works.
something is goofy with the jack or the cord.

Where is the fuse for the cig lighters on a 2008 dodge ram 1500 act located ? Is there anything else that would cause them to both stop work at the same titiine?

I'm not familiar with your truck, but, from reading up there is an aux socket in center console and then cig sockets. These are seperate circuits, centre is perm powered, cig sockets not.

When you say more than one has stopped, is it 2 x cig or 1 x cig and 1 x console?

I'd be checking the fuse and relay box under the hood, front wing sort of location (depends on year and such so I may be off here) for some circa 20 amp fuses (yellow in uk).

found this, which may or may not be the right numbers as is a different year perhaps:

Your cigarette lighter is powered by fuse #29 in the integrated power module. The power outlet is powered by #26 and if the power outlet in the center console is not working, this one is #42

Sounds Like You Have An Exposed Hot Wire Somewhere. I Would Try And Change Cig Lighter Wiring Harness. Be Sure And Check Your Aux Outlets So That There Are No Exposed Wires. They All Run On The Same Fuse Hope This Helps!!

I just got a Marlboro Power Pack too and have not idea how to charge it. It came with a corn with a cigarette lighter plug at one end and a negative and positive plug at the other end. what does this...

The pac will have a door on both sides that hide the cables you hook to a battery to help jump start a car once it is charged up. The cord that you say has a cig plug on one end is used to charge it using your car plug. There is another door on the back of the Pac that holds all the accessories, extra fuses and the charging cords. It does not sound like you have the A/C adaptor to plug it into a wall outlet.. If this unit is old the internal battery may be bad these Pac's are notorious for battery failure. You can find these batterys on eBay for about $13.

Power Point on 97 Ford F150 does not work. Cig lighter does work. Based on fuse schematic they both appear to run off the same fuse. Is this correct? If so, what might the problem be?

The owners manual lists :

Cigar lighter / DTC plug :Cab fuse panel Fuse #3, 25 A
Aux Power Point : Engine compartment fuse # 10, 25 A
