I Took out the heater element and found the thermal fuse and changed it now it works awesome..

It costed a whole 31.00 Canadian dollars to fix the problem when a repair man wanted to charge me a 100.00 dollars just to look at it.

Frigidaire electric dryer model gleq2152es1 lights wont turn on and wont do anything

Hi ana piedranayari05, this is AP! Thank you for your post

I understand you are having trouble with your Frigidaire electric dryer not turning on. Make sure the dryer is still plugged into the outlet, and plugged in correctly. Also check to see if the house fuse is blown or circuit breaker tripped? If so, Replace fuse or re-set circuit breaker. Check to make sure that electrical circuit is not overloaded and correct. The dryer must be on a circuit by itself. Overloaded circuits can damage the dryer and possibly cause damage to home. Have a licensed electrician check to make sure it is on a circuit by itself. Additionally, the thermal limiter could have tripped or possibly an internal problem with the dryer. A thermal limiter automatically turns off the motor in the unlikely event of an overheated situation. A service technician must replace the thermal limiter after correcting the fault. If you have check the plug, fuses, and circuit breaker and still no power I would recommend contacting a local technician to diagnose and service your electric dryer.

Amana dryer model YNED7200TW will not start. there is power, but start button does nothing. Resetting breaker did not work. Any ideas?

Thermal Fuse

Item #2986 (OEM Part)
$10.70

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.

I have a Kenmore 110.63032102 dryer and I put a pair of sneakers in it. It shut off and now it wont even turn on. What's wrong?

Drying a pair of sneakers causes the dryer to overheat and this causes the thermal fuse to blow. The thermal fuse is wired in series with the motor circuit and if it blows, power to the motor is terminated causing the dryer not to turn on. Disconnect power then Pry the lower access panel off with a flat-head screwdriver as shown.

Remove the hex-head screw from the lint duct bracket and remove the bracket. Remove the two hex-head screws from the lint duct and remove the duct to expose the thermal fuse on the blower housing.

Bypass the thermal fuse by disconnecting the wires and connecting them together. Insulate them properly and plug the dryer back in. The thermal fuse is indeed blown and needs to be replaced if the dryer starts. Do not use the dryer with the thermal fuse bypassed due to fire hazards. Let us know if you need further advice.

Lights turn on but dryer wont start

The problem is likely a blown thermal fuse. Disconnect power then access and bypass the thermal fuse on the blower housing. The blower housing is located on the front left bottom of the dryer cabinet if the dryer has the lint filter on the front or at the rear left bottom if the lint filter is located on the top of the cabinet.

Let us know if the problem is not addressed above but indicate the exact model number of the machine for further advice.

Dryer over heated and power switch wont work now to

Most likely, the thermostats have failed. The machine heated up too much and the thermal fuse turned it off permanently to prevent a fire.

Unplug the machine! Check the thermal fuse for continuity with a multimeter. If it does not have continuity, replace the thermal fuse and the thermostats. If you do not replace the thermostats, the thermal fuse will probably burn out again.

My gas dryer turns o but wont heat up

Hi, thanks for the inquiry.

It's most likely a thermal fuse. Basically, the voltage has to go through the fuse
Before it goes to the ignitor.
If it's an electric, it's either the heating element or the thermal cut-off, most of the time.
Either way, it should only cost you about $90 to repair.

Best of luck :)

Kenmore dryer model 64602 wont turn on???

Check the thermal fuse on the rear of the dryer.
Remove the rear panel. The thermal fuse is 1 and 1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide. White in color and located just left of the dryer exhaust vent. 2 purple wires. Jump the wires together and start the dryer. If it runs, replace the thermal fuse.

Dryer stopped working... wont turn on

Before starting troubleshooting-Unplug the dryer, because you will be removing front panel for this check.
There are several things that can cause your problem:
#1 of which is a clogged up lint trap and/or vent duct raising the heat that could cause your thermal fuse to open (blow). What to do: Make sure that duct and vent outside of wall are clear, if they were obstructed, then the thermal fuse can be checked for continuity with an ohm meter, it is located in the fan housing with 2 terminals coming off of it, if it does not have continuity (connection) between terminals, you will need to replace it, simple and less than $15 bucks.
NOTE: this problem can also be caused by a bad thermostat letting dryer get to hot which in turn blows the thermal fuse., sooo after changing thermal fuse you need to check that the temperature of air leaving dryer duct does not exceed 150 degrees, if it does replace the thermostat for less than $25 bucks, this maybe be what caused your problem in the first place. Good Luck!

Dryer does not start - Thermal Fuse is ok.

Good to know, when the appliance does not start at all is always thermal fuse, wiring, door lock switch, or rarely the control assembly.

Have a nice day.

Gas dry turns on wont ignite

Hi thanks for the question. Most times a failure to ignite the igniter is caused by the thermal fuse located at the back, on the air duct . to repair, pull away from wall . remove back panel. clean all dirt , clean venting .the fuse is on the left, on the air vent, a small piece of plastic with 2 blue wires to it. replace thermal fuse. thanks the appliance doc
