The dsl light is physical connection to the internet. If your dsl is a line share with dial tone and it sounds clear with no humm or static, your lines are most likely in good working order. So you may start with the telco tech support or better yet borrow a friends working modem and see if you get dsl at your place. This will tell if a dsl signal is making it to your jack.
