Question about Sony Mavica MVC-CD200 Digital Camera

Disc Error I'm in desperate need of your help. I tool almost 100 pictures at a friend's bridal shower. When I got home and turned on the camera to look at them I wasn't able to do so because of a disc error. Disc acces starts when I turn the camera on and then there is a disc error with a alert sound. Also blinking on the top right is a disc symbol and C:13:01, which I am assuming is the time this occurred. I REALLY need to view these pics. I tried everything from turning the camera on at every setting (same error), tried to finalize the CD (same error) and tried to take the CD our and view it on my PC (this was a long shot since I have to finalize to view pics - same error). Help someone! PLEASE!

we have had the same problem with our CANON digital camera, with about 200 pictures on the disc. Solution appeared to be to put disc in your computer printer slot as if you were going to download or print. All that was on the disc was available to retrieve. THen we placed the disc back in the camera and it worked fine.........Good luck.....

Download Picasa from Google (Free photo editing software). Upload your photos to Picasa (on your hard drive) via the grey cable (firewire) that comes with the camera. Then swivel the top button to setup and re-format the disk. You will lose all the photos from the disk, but at least you can use it again. Your precious photos will be on your hard drive so no worries!! Then upload your photos immediately to Picasaweb. That way if the computer goes to custard, the internet has the pics online and safe !! Hope that helps

The c:13:01 is the error code. I was researching this same thing on my camera. It 'magically' fixes itself after anywhere from 1 minute (turn off, count to 20 and turn back on)to 1 month later. This time, I lost photo-ops with my kids and their cousins. Apparently, this is a loose connector - see link- and you can fix it by 1) smacking your camera around a little (no joke, this knocks the connector back, for a little while or 2) sending it to Sony for repair (about $350) or 3) follow this guy's suggestions and fix yourself. I haven't lost any actual photos, except the first time when this happened. Since then, I've put the CD in the computer and I've been able to pull off the pics. Can't use the CD again though, even if it's not full. The camera must mark the CD somehow to avoid overlaying photos(?). Anyway, here's the link and good luck :) http://www.pechorin.com/m/2003/07/12/SONY_C1301_ERROR-202719-43.html

Should I invite my future mother-in law & future sister-in law to my bridal shower my friend is planning?

I would hope your friend would already know to invite these two people to your shower. It will leave a bad taste in your mouth (so to speak) if they are not invited. No sense in leaving your future in-laws out of the festivities. The more, the merrier. AND they will thank you for it!

How do I hang a picture on a Durock cement board wall?

Please provide more information.
Cement board is usually used to as a waterproof wall.
many different 3M Brand Command hangers might work.

if you need to hang a picture in your shower, you may be spending too much time in the shower to require the need for entertainment, possibly need to "phone a friend"?

Mavica CD400 Not enough disc space error

A few times over the last several years, having shot thousands of images with my CD-400, I discovered that VERY rarely a bump/jar, etc. can cause a bad write, or the same thing when finalizing. In the car with a friend one day, I was needing to finalize for him and got the message of death. That's the only thing I can offer; mine has worked like Sony intended.

Disc Error

Repair will probably run from $180. to over $250. You can try to gently clean the lens with a Q-tip and cleaner.
This is a common problem with the Mavicas....The 400 and 500 models seem to last longer, but in the end..Sony has created another camera that despite it's price is a 'throw away camera" (just like the one's that used floppies)

Disc Error

I had a similar problem, I was able to view the images on the camera but could not download them to my computer. I have an external cd drive, HP CD writer plus. This drive does not require me to finalize my CDs in order to download my pictures. With the damaged CD, I used a piece of software called BADCOPY to recovery the files(pictures) on the CD. I was able to recover all but one picture from the damaged CD. (I tried using the cd drive on my pc and the recovery software did not find anything, I had to use the external drive)

Olympus FE-115 : wont turn on..turns iself off!!!

I had the same problem and i called up cutomer support on 1300 659 678 (Australia) and they said that the problem may lie in your batteries. It was advised that you use Lithium batteries, and to avoid use of Alkaline, since they dont have the required power to operate the camera which is why it turns off right away. As to what type of rechageable batterires to use i am not sure, i think it was Nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) batteries. Hope this solves your problem.
