Hi
One of two possibilities. No 1 it could be that the paperlift motor is faulty and does not lift the paper tray uo, thus not detecting paper.
in this case you will need to contact your service agent for a repair or replacement.
Should the red spanner light also be lit it could mean that the fuser needs to be reset. This is done by going into the service mode : Press and hold function, original size and 3 buttons in that order. you should see F1 on the screen. press the 9 button and the start button. scroll down to ram initialize and press start. scroll down to LBP Fuser reset and press start. press 1 for yes. switch machine off wait and switch machine on again.
should the problem persist contact your service agent.
hope it helped
You must enable the USB in service mode F5-88 While holding function key, hold original size ledger key, while holding those two, press the 3 key. This gets you into service mode. Press 5 then the start key. Scroll to #88 and set the value to 2
You can download a user's manual from here.
It's a pretty large file, so I'm guessing there's something there about paper feeding or envelopes that will help you.
Good luck.
Make sure that you don't have too much paper in the tray. There is an overfill idicator on the back of the tray. Push the tray in firmly. Then try to print. If not, reset the printer by pushing "reset" button. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
