Question about Computers & Internet

PC won't start

I have a problem with my PC. (PackardBell Imedia 1314) When I switch it on, it starts the power up sequence (a click is heard, probably a relay). The on/off switch is illuminated Yellow, not Blue as normal. The fans start up. Then there is another click (relay again?) the same as before, the fans stop and the whole sequence starts again over and over. The cycle time is about half a second. The only way to stop it is to pull the plug out of the back or at the mains. Could you please tell me from this brief description what the most likely cause is? Thanks

Hi, you're not supposed to hear any clicks as there are no relays in a normal pc. I'd suggest try a different power supply, also try to see if it starts up when the hard drive is disconnected.

How can i get graphic card drivers?

Click on this Packard Bell Support Download link,

http://www.packardbell.co.uk/pb/en/GB/content/download

Click on - Link to the old page - to the right.

Click on DESKTOP
Click on iMedia (2004-2005)
Click on Driver
Click on Xp

Click on the appropriate graphics driver file, ATI_R480_Chipset.exe,
OR,
Radeon _xpress200_811.exe

Download the Execute file (.exe), and install it.

(I would also download, and install the ATI_Catalyst_8630.exe
It's the 'control panel')

I assume this is a desktop. Unplug the power and remove the covers and see if you can find any details on the mother board then search on that info. I found the PB site but without the year of manufacture, I couldn't find your system.

Orange led on mother board

You have a hardware failure, most likely memory or video card. The first thing I would try is open the case and blow the dust out of it, especially dust on the memory modules and anywhere on the motherboard. Then try to boot the computer again. If that does not work I would start removing components one at a time and testing them.
