Allison MD 3060 Transmission Leak

Right side above the valve body appears to be a breather, consisting of a bolt, washer cap, and rubber gasket under the cap and may be spring loaded? This leaks when parked and not running, but dries up when running. I have tightened the bolt but still leaks when not running. The bolt only tightens so far, and the washer will spin freely all the time, and seems to have some spring type cushion built in. Trans is not overfull with fluid.

SOURCE: My heater fires up and

Hi,
I would get a meter on the thermostat and check when it is actually cutting out and if the gas valve shuts down right a way.... If everything is happening like you say and the water is getting that hot, then the gas valve is hanging up and not shutting down when it should....my next move would be to replace the gas valve...

See item # 9 ( 93844 ) at this link. Most RV places should stock the valve.

What is the area on a c-6 automatic transmission that is just above the filter?

That is the VALVE BODY. Torque specs for tightening the valve body bolts must be followed precisely to assure continued operation of the transmission.
There is also a NECESSARY gasket at the top of the filter that must go between the filter and the valve body, otherwise the transmission will suck air and "slip" when shifting from 1st to 2nd.

How to replace tank 4112 bolts

Getting them off can be a real pain when they're corroded. Turn the nut under the tank and try holding the bolt head inside, it it spins or just strips, you will have to use a hacksaw blade between the tank and the bowl to cut them off. One word of caution, when you put in the new ones a rubber gasket goes in under the washer bolt head above and under the washer from below as well. If you only put one inside the tank, it won't leak, but you could crack the tank when you tighten it up. Also you should replace the flush valve gasket at the same time.

Toilet tank to bowl small leak

You need to replace the tank to bowl nuts, washers, and gaskets as well as the flush valve gasket. One word of caution. When installing the new bolts to hold the tank in, place a rubber gasket under the washer inside the tank, and also one on each bolt under the washer underneath the tank. If you omit the one under the tank you may end up cracking the tank when you tighten it down.

How to remove back engine case cover & stop oil leak on a 1992 honda shadow vt600c motorcycle

This is how I replaced the rear valve cover rubber gasket seal on 1995 vt600 start by runing the bike very low on fuel a quart or so. On the set
ther's two screw on each side look closely about center of the set, there
probably 10mm bolts, Remove the set pull it backward, Remove the fuel tank 12mm bolt pulling it backwards will remove it from the rubber hanger
this will allow you to remove the fuel hose at the valve. install a cap to stop
the fuel. To remove the spark plug wires and boot on left side, two fingers
at the base of the boot and to fingers at the top of the boot note the plug
wire. ( boot body pull up easy). right side plug wire pull it up easy. At this point I removed the plate that covers the exhaust vavle 5mm allen wrech for clearence & the breather tube on top of the cover & removed the tie strab that holds the wiring to the left frame tube and pride it to the right side for clearence remove 10mm bolts lift the cover up easy have someone hold it up and slitely back, look close and pay attention remove rubber seal and go to the right side with it looking and getting it over the rocker arms and cam gear.wipe cover clean. thick greas on bottom of cover to hold the gkt in place sneak seal over cam & rockers and install on cover be sure seal is in place at the spark plug hole & breather area I used trans gel to holed the
gkt in place

Where is the EGR Valve located on a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser

The valve is located just above where the engine and transmission seam meets. Removal requires the airbox be removed.
There is the metal exhaust gas tube with 2 8mm bolts and a fiber gasket. The EGR mounts to the cylinder head with 2 10mm bolts and a metal gasket. There are 2 vacuum lines that go to the control solenoid, a black plastic pod moounted under the throttle body. It clips into the TB mounting bracket, and has a 3rd vacuum supply line and 1 electrical connector.

Kitchen taps drip and leak.I do not want to replace with new but would like to sort these problems.

dependent on the type of faucet, you need to replace (a) the washers, (b.) the spring and seals or (c.) the gasket. They all serve the same purpose. 1. turn off the water supply to the faucet. 2. double handle? (a)remove the center cap (b) then remove the screw holding the handle down (c)next unscrew the valve stem retaining nut (normally it is the one right above the faucet body). (d) pull the valve stem out, if there is a small rubber piece held down by screw remove the screw, replace the washer. if there is a rubber gasket wrapped around the stem, remove and replace it, if nothing is on the stem look into the faucet body you should see 1 or 2 small rubber pieces these are the seals the springs are right below the seals. Remove and replace springs and seals. 3. single handle? remove the handle retaining screw, normally covered by hot/cold indicator symbol, unscrew valve stem retaining nut, pull the valve stem and replace either the gasket or springs and seals.

I fixed (I think) a broken flaper valve assembly. In doing so, I created a leak where the bolts affix the tank to the bowl. I can't find a rubber gasket assembly (I don't even know if that is the right...

Go to home depot and tell them you need a tank-to-bowl gasket. They have them at home depot and it may come with new bolts for the tank-to-bowl fastening. New bolts would be a good idea to pick up anyway. One rubber washer under each head, then a rubber washer at the bottom of the tank. Use a metal washer and nut to secure this to the tank, then use another washer and nut from the bowl to the tank.

Having a problem with my allison md 3060 transmission

Hi mate I had the same problem with a camper once and the only way that you will ever stop it from shifting hard into gears down shifting or up is to take it into a Detroit Allison work shop and ask them to reset the throttle position and reset Un-adaptive shifts then to do an Fast-adaptive shift with the electronic tool called Allison Doc.

Ask them also to do a clutch report on the electronic tool, that will tell you straight away the condition of the box on the inside.

Thats the problem with these new electronic transmissions they force you to go back to the suppliers. If I had my book here I could have helped you with the fault code but you would have had to take it in any way to get all the parameters reset.

What happens is that when you buy this trans new they set it to UN-adaptive shifts then to fast adaptive then it learns how long the solinoids should be open and how quick to open them to have a good shift, but over a few ignition cycles the fast-adaptive changes to normal over a year or two the clutch plates wears with a few 001 and the computer cant keep up have to be reseted which is normal to them, expect to take it back every year or two to be reseted.
