Question about Kitchen Ranges

My KEBC107KBSO KitchenAid single electric oven has recently started making a loud continuous clicking type sound when it is turned on. This sound continues even after turning it off until the oven is cool again.

I posted in my problem that the noise continued EVEN after the oven was turned off. It makes this noise from the time the oven is turned on until the oven is turned off and cool again. Maybe I should not have said "clicking" noise. It is a loud continuous noise. It is so loud, you can hear it in the next room. Your answer stated that the noise you were speaking of stopped when the oven heated up and the metal expanded. NOT my problem. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks. Doris

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven. You may have to cut the cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model numberhere.

this will help you.
you can get the parts at

Hi,

Okay found out what might make the noise. There is a fan which makes noise..turns out it was the stainless door cover vibrating when the oven is pre heating. This also explains why it might die away as it heated up since the metal expanded enough to silence it. I loosened and retightend the screws and the noise was gone. In my original post I mentioned the vent in between the oven door and control panel. When I was holding my hand on the vent it was also touching the door, which made the noise go away. I am sure the range will be silent.

Thank You

Sounds like it will not explode, but it surely may start a fire somewhere.
I should recommend you to have someone unplug it ( if it can be unplugged) or turn off the circuit breaker if it is "hardwired " into the house or apartment.
Please have it checked by an expert before you try to use it again.
Be blessed.

F8 means a fault on the door locking switch.

Something may be preventing the door lock from operating properly.

The solution is to have the door lock switch and wiring checked over.

How do I use the thermometer in my Kitchenaid Superba?

I found the answer by checking the Kitchenaid website to find the manual. My model is KEMS308sss04, this is found on the right door frame. Website is: http://shop.kitchenaid.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Use%20and%20Care%20Guide%20-%20W10162223.pdf
You can preheat oven, but then turn off to set thermometer. Put probe in food. Put food in oven and plug in probe. The digital light asks for the temperature you want, type it in. Then the cooking method. I used convection bake at 325. Hit START. (The first time I didn't stop the oven and it didn't work. After stopping everything and starting with the probe before turning on the oven, it worked perfectly. Good Luck.

Very likely - yes. Turn the breaker off first (there is usually always power to one of the terminals of the element). Remove the element and check for continuity. No continuity - replace.

Hi. try to reset this unit by killing the power or unplugging the cord for 5 minutes. this will reset the control. if the control continues to beep after you reset, this will confirm control failure. you will need to replace the control board in this case.

OVEN will not heat

KitchenAid KEBC107KSS does not heat hot enough and does not heat evenly. When the temperature is dialed higher, it burns the cookies. When the convection fan is on, it has a 'cooling effect' so the temperature never reaches the proper level. Is this problem repairable? Or is this a thermostat issue? Thank you for your help!
