Question about Radio Communications

2 Answers

I tried to use my headset in Adobe Connect Pro-meeting. The only choise for microphone was the Realtek Audio device which is in my computer, so I could't record any sounds or speech with my headsets' microphone. How can I get my headset-microphone work? It can't be found in any Windows' Control Panel "audio devices" section or anywhere else so I could configure my audio I/O settings.

Thank you for trying to help me.

Unfortunately I still didn't get anywhere with my problems; I don't have such file C:\program files\analog devices\SoundMAX\ I actually have no idea what a SoundMAX is and what does it have to do with my headset... And I do not have any ASUS cd (I don't even know what that is!). So I must ask for more advices.

    Thank you!

I FIXED IT!! The fix (if you haven't bought a new sound card) is to go to
C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\ and run ATIrem.exe. This will remove all the soundmax files. Then put in the ASUS cd and run the "Add New Hardware Wizard". It'll find the sound controller and then you just have to reinstall it. Once it's reinstalled go to ctrl panel > sound devices > voice > volume and make sure mic is checked with the volume up. Then click properties, playback, and okay. Click file then adv
go to control panel and click on soundmax then click on micraphone and click mic or headset then click on test or w/e and talk and then apply then ok and mine works now YAY!

then..................

go to control panel
2. choose "sounds and audio devices"
3. choose the "audio" tab
4. there are "default device" for "sound playback" and "sound recording", change both to logitech usb headset"

you then effectively enable the headset and disable the speakers. and the sound will remain on the headset after unplug and replug.

take the device manager and check wether the device is enabled and is working properly
if yes then
bringout your sound settings option from your taskbar and check wether the microphone option is in mute or turned on
if mute turn it on then it wil work

    increase virtual memory
    - change the room seetings to be DSL
    - the computer is restarted right before she comes into the room
    - not opening anything but Connect Pro Meeting
    - started off with activating audio, then activate the video pod.
    - unplugged anything but webcam and headset from any USB ports

    Unfortunately,
we couldn't get the problem to be solved. I guess I have to think that
her computer was old with limited memory...

    Audio portion for use
with Adobe Connect if not all staff have camera/microphone or if you
want to have less problems with audio.

Phone number to reserve - 814-863-3410 or their web site.

    • Ports available: 6, 10, 14, 30

    • These are available on a limited basis

    • NON-UP staff would need a PSU operator to open the line. This will use one port.

I just bought the gamecom 377 plantronics and although my realtek recognice the microphone i cant use it on any other program or game...

Go into the computer's "control panel" and "audio devices", just to make sure that the Plantronics GameCom 377 is listed as the default device for both the microphone and listening. You sometimes have to designate the headset within the individual software programs as well.

Skype not working

Sir,

Click this link for more information........

http://support.skype.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=35

Also Check........

On a PC with external speakers and also a headset with microphone. Windows XP is configured so that standard audio are external speakers and standard microphone is the headset. Skype is configured to use the headset for audio in and out.

This way one can listen to sound from the PC and from MP3 players through external speakers and if there is a call to make or take, this is going through the headset.

But now there is the problem that the noise level for the headset is too low. Increasing volume has no effect on the headset, it only affects the external speaker's volume.

Now the solution: Going to the control panel and opening the sound setting, go to the audio tab. The external speakers are selected as default. Just temporarily select the headset and then click on volume just below. You can now set the volume for the headset, click OK and click cancel (!!!) on the sound control dialog box. This way the external speakers remain as default output.

Skype-->Tools -> Options -->Sound Devices-->audio device/USB/etc Audio Device (do NOT use windows default device)
You can also tick the ring pc speaker check box as this is a good backup to alert you even
if the main speakers are off or turned down.

Windows:
Start-->Control panel-->Sound and Audio devices
On the audio tab set the default playback device to your main soundcard(AC97/Audio-chip/add-on-adapter), etc.
Your installed audio device must be present there.
If not, reinstall audio device

thanks
good luck

Hello. i have a microsoft lifechat zx-6000. i cant seem to find the microphone boost for my headset...i even updated my sound card. Its a integrated card from realtek.

I've open a case with Microsoft.

Just bought mine and have the same problem with Windows 7 Ultimate. If i speak normal with the earset place corectly on my ear, i get 2 bars out of 10 ...witch is way too low. If i take my Xbox 360 Wireless Earset and connect it to my computer using the same module, i get the same problem.

The person i spoke to on the phone did do the same test and got the same problem...so i guess its general... well unless you have a very loid voice...

This shouldn't have anything with Realtek witch i also have but its USB connected, so it doesn't go threw your Realtek audio drivers

The solution would be simple, implement a microphone boost or inscrease the volume drasticly within the Microsoft ZX-6000 driver

They are supose to transfert this to their development team. I hope their goiing to make the change and quickly enought since i'm waiting for that to fully experience starcraft 2 with this microphone!

Rosetta Stone Microphone Not Found

This worked for me:

1) Right click on the Rosetta Stone icon in the Start menu
2) Click the "Compatibility" tab
3) Set it to run in compatibility mode with Windows Vista SP2 (mine was defaulted to run in XP compatibility mode, which seemed to be the problem)
4) Start the program again, if you are lucky all mics will now show up

Headet and desktop microphone problem.

first check if you have the right drivers on your computer for your audio, if you have audio like mine go to realtek audio manager it should be right beside the clock, then click on the top right corner it says device advanced settings it opens another box that gives you options for recording like tie up same type of input jacks, ie. line-in or microphone,as an input device. and it has another one separate all input jacks as independent input devices you could try one of those if you have realtek audio manager theres other options to that might help and if you dont have that go to recording devices and see if your mic is working properly and if its set to default device
