Lexmark never updated the E210 driver for Windows Vista / Windows 7. Luckily, the printer is identical to the Samsung ML-1210 printer, which has better drivers that are Vista / Win 7 compatible. (The new drivers also work if the printer is connected to an XP machine, but is being shared with a Vista machine on your network.)

Go to the Samsung Support website (www.samsung.com/us/support/) and then type ML-1210 in the search box in the middle of the page. Click on the ML-1210 result, then click the "Downloads" tab, then below that, click "Drivers." Scroll down to get the correct driver for your system.

Uninstall any old drivers before installing the new drivers.

Good luck!

If your Lexmark is a shared printer attached to another computer, Win7 will refuse to recognize it as a Samsung. The solution here is to manually edit the .inf file that comes with the samsung drivers and chaned all occasions ot the string "Samsung ML-1200 Series" to "Lexmark E210" (without the word Series). Then Win7 accepts it as a Lexmark driver.

can you help me?? These days i think this is no possible :( I was trying to get install the printer for many ways, and it didn't recognized by Win 7 64 bits :S

To edit the.inf file that mdina mentions it is in the C:\temp\ML:-1200\Printer\VISTA-64 folder and it is SPLV1.inf. you can edit it with notepad but i would make a back up of the orig file like: SPLV1-orig.inf first and then once you have done the find and replace do a save as and change the file type to all files and save it as an SPLV1.inf file and then add a printer and browse for the driver locate in the above directory and it loads and then you're good to go. Thanks y'all for this thread I was really hacked off at Lexmark for no driver and to find out samsung has one and that lexmark is too enept to edited it and add it to their download site is just ludicrous

John Dollison, you are a legend. Thought i was going to have to throw out my trusty (and brilliant) Lexmark E210, but after installing the Samsung driver and pointing it at the USB port, it fired up good as gold.
Many Thanks, a virtual beer on its way!

Nao consigo instalar lexmar E210 no windows 7 64 bits o driver original dela instala mais na hora de imprimir nao imprimi

Hi and welcome to FixYa

Firstly I don't speak nor write in Portuguese but I understood it so my answer is going to be in English, apologizes for that. OK now Lexmark web site says that there are no Windows 7 drivers for that printer (seems to be an old printer). So lets install the Windows XP driver in comparability mode. But first try unplugging the printer (is it USB?) wait a few seconds and plug it back in to see if Windows 7 can install the drivers by itself (remember to have the windows up to date and all the windows updates options turned ON). Then if that doesn't work for you, try the compatibility mode trick.

1. Download the XP drivers ( http://download.cnet.com/Lexmark-E210/3000-2116_4-146099.html )

2. Place the driver installation file on the Desktop.

3. Right Click the driver installation file and select Properties/Compatibility Tab. Select the appropriate options in from the list (in your case choose windows 7 64 bits).

4. Click Apply/OK.

5. Right Click the file and select the Run As Administrator option to install.

That should work if the first option I gave you don't do the trick.

Hope this information was helpful

Sincerely,

aDynamite.

Lexmark E210 laser printer driver not working

I had the same problem two years ago and purchased the adaptor also .The port is correct. My adaptor never would work either. The correct answer, for me, was to purchase a Parallel port PCI card and install it.  I am still using it to this day as both the paper and the ink ribbon  on my pin printer is a lot less expensive for making copies that I don't need to be letter perfect.
