our washer was doing the same thing not spinning and draining. Took the pump off and which consist of three phillips screws and two wires, to find a clob of lint about the size of a golf ball the first time in the line. Then put the pump back on and the next load it did the same thing. Took it apart again to find the same thing just a bigger ball of lint. Hope this helps someone and is there a way to put a lint filter on this machine? Could anyone answer why they were taken off machines to begin with?

I have the same exact problem with my Hotpoint washer. Water doesn't drain during rinse cycle. Washer just makes a rumbling / humming sound. I tried something that seems to make it work but doesn't provide a final fix to the problem. When I remove the drain hose from the drain and actually blow hard  into the drain hose with pressure, it seems to initiate pumping and will pump down normally. I haven't taken the hose off yet to check if there are obstructions in the drain hose/pump. I know the pump has a small impeller that spins to pump water out. One of my thoughts is that some strings (from towels, clothes..etc) may have become tangled up on the impeller and maybe my blowing on the drain hose frees up or "kick starts" the impeller so it can drain. When I have time to take apart and examine the hose/pump area, I will post any new information from my findings. Good luck.

Thanks for this tip. I tried this for my Fisher & Paykel GW712 which was failing to drain. The tub would turn indicating that the motor was OK but the cycle would not spin because it would not drain. I blew VERY HARD six times into the hose and voila! it was successfully fixed.

Check these
1)the drain hose is kinked
2)Does the lid switch click when closing?
3)Something in the pump or hoses? Check the hose coming down from the tub for socks, rags, etc.
4)Bad wigwag
5)Broken belt? Loose belt?
Also the pump would be the first culprit to check. I believe that the pump in this model is electric and not driven by a pulley, so switching out should be easy. First you want to verify that you have power going to the pump while in the drain cycle. If you have power going to it and it's not pumping water out you can be pretty sure that is the problem. The front panel can be removed by removing the two screws at the bottom and lifting out. Now you can get a good look at the motor and pump.

Washer wont spin or drain

Yes, you can check the LID switch as it needs to activate the program to move forward. If the water fills up and there is no wash cycle, check if the motor hums, if so check the capacitor, check the friction on the spindle/drum. If the spindle does not agitate with movement the assembly must be reset.

WASHER MAKES A HUMMING NOISE IN SPIN CYCLE BUT DOESN"T SPIN & CLOTHES ARE SOPPING WET.

what's the brand name and model number, all washers are different, most likely it's the motor humming or the pump is humming, could have something stuck in pump,if the water doesn't drain the washer won't spin,if you have a shop vac pull the drain hose out of stand pipe or sink, stick the shop vac hose onto the drain hose, get it down as low as you can and suck out the water and then see if it spins,if there's alot of water in the tub suck it out of the tub first then go to the drain hose,if it spins when water is out you know it's the pump but if you say water is still in tub i would have to say it is the pump,

Washer does not remove water in final spin

If washer hums when it should spin, and the washer will not drain, you may have 2 issues.
First check that the drain pump, drain hose, and wall drain are free of debris.
The washer may not spin properly if the drain system is not operable.
Once you are sure the washer drain pump, drain lines, wall drain, and drain hose is okay, run a test wash.
If the washer hums but now drains, you fixed one issue.
If the washer still hums, you may have a bad belt, motor coupler, motor itself, etc...
Check parts for wear and replace as necessary.I pulled the drain impeller and found a sock from my little guy stuck in there. Fixed!
check all water outlets to make sure there is nothing blocking the pipes.

My Bosch Nexxt Essence front load washer is making a knocking and squeaking noise during the whole spin cycle. It sounds like it's coming from the drum mounts - what should we do?

My Bosch Nexxt Essence front load washer will not drain. I changed the lint filter, and insured that the drainage hose was free of debris. I removed all the wet clothes, wrung out the excess water, and redistributed the clothes. Still, no draining or spinning. Initially there was a humming sound, but now there is no sound at all when I try to restart the drain or spin cycles. All the lights are appropriately "on".

Front load washing machine would not spin now won't wash either.

Sounds like you have a broken belt or a bad motor. The easiest way to tell if the belt is bad is to reach inside the drum and turn it. If it turns very easily, you probably have a bad belt or something has caused the belt to jump off, such a s a loose pulley or bad bearing. If it feels like there is a good amount of resistance, or a kind of "winding up" noise, then the belt is still on and you likely have a bad motor. Also, you could just scoot the macine out, unplug it, and remove the back cover a look inside to see if the belt is still on the pulleys. Good Luck!
