Keeps tripping power at 13minutes remaining, just before the spin cycle

Hello. It sounds like the motor has gone bad--possibly a shorted part of the motor, or a jammed drain pump. It also could be the transmission binding at the point of going into spin mode. You didn't provide a brand/model number so my help is limited. The clue here is the clicking before the power trip.

Defy stove, when start heat up element it get warm but trip power after about 5min, what's rong?

Not sure of the cause but the signs are pointing to an overload. Check the power rating of the oven and the standard cabling of the house. They won't match! . Solution is to run a dedicated line for the oven - let a licensed electrician do that in compliance to your local regulation.

I have a 5kw generator it was working fine I use it on the oil fields to power my little rv suddenly every time I turn on the air con it trips the breaker and now im using a air compressor and at first...

A number of things can cause this. A sit worked before !

Engines get older and can't hold HP which causes the rpm to slow and voltage dip, this causes a current increase and trips.

Breakers also get weaker especially if they trip a few times
HVAC and compressors pull approx 6 times the current to start as they do to run, once they have run a while, they build up higher head pressures which cause harder starting and more current draw, hence the breaker tripping.

It's hard to pin point which is the actual issue, but these all contribute.

My adp8540 has stopped working because my sister opened midcycle. Now it trips the circuit safety switch and if it does do anything else it blinks 6 times. Can it be fixed or do I jut need a new one?

Please remove off the main power supply and keep aside while pressing off the panel control. If the trip works, check if the motor is struck , release with manual action. Also check the motor, remove connection and see if the trip has changed. Also if there is any leak on the machine if the trip switch is a ELCB , which can trip with a ground/earth leak. If so check the outlet ground or use another plug point.

My dish washer just stopped working, no power no lights no nothing. it is plugged in and the circuit breaker is not tripped the wires for to the plug are tight and i didnt find an loose wires, the gfc plug...

this machine has no power, and i would suspect a broken wire but you say the trip did not trip, have you got a voltage tester?if so set to x1k or until when you touch both points it workes.with the plug in hand put one point on the right plug ter and put the other one on the left if you get a reading that means a broken wire.if you dont then suspect the plug point.if all fails then the main cpc board inside the machine is gone.adrian,,,,

Unit "clicks" when turned on, but will not start up.

The click you hear is the contactor getting pulled in whe there is a call for cooling. There are a couple of things you can check before calling someone.
1. Make sure you are getting 220v power to the unit. (breaker tripped, fuses in disconnect box outside).
If you have a volt meter, you can just check the power at the box before and after the fuses, if any at all.
2. If you are getting power, you can check the capacitor. The capacitor is a round or oval object with 2 or more wires going to it in the units electrical compartment. A visual check can be done by seeing if the top of the capacitor is bubbled up at all, but sometimes there are no visual indications and will have to be checked with a multi-meter that reads micro-farads (mfds). Capacitors are a common cause of a unit not powering on and pretty cheap to fix yourself, you can pick them up at a local A/C supply store.
If you have a tripped breaker or a blown fuse and the breaker trips again right after or a fuse blows again, you might have a shorted compressor and will have to be looked at by a technician. Hope this points you in the right direction!

Replaced switch but circuit breaker trips on start up ! Mowermm600

Your circuit breaker will trip because of two main reasons:
  • Electrical power point circuit is overloaded (too many appliances active on the same power point circuit)
  • Power Lawn mower has become unsafe as your active live is able to reach your earth connection (e.g. short-circuit). Make sure that you have correctly reconnect ALL your power leads wires (check that the Active and Neutral wires have not been transpose). With power off/device unplug, use a multimeter on resistance range and verify that your active lead pin is not showing a reading against the Earth (middle) pin when the mower switch is turn on or off! There should not be any resistance reading between the Earth and Neutral (opposite pin to Active) pins either!
Hope it helps.

Need a point setting for ao smith air compressor ac motor model number opa-0297 s# c56b72b2316508j2 work on air machine with motor installed motor will hum and trip breaker can we set points to stop trip...

try running up this motor when its not installed on the compressor,, if it still blows the trips the motor is faulty,, if it runs ok, but hums when reconted to the compressor the compressor if far to tight for the motor to turn the compressor,,,you can not reset the points in a breaker trip they trip at a set curent if the motor is pulling more amps than the trip is set for it will trip the trip to turn off the curent, the motor will pull far more amps than it should if its over loaded thats why its humming its trying to spin up it but cant so it just keeps pulling more and more amps till the trip cuts out

I was using my microwave for over 10 minutes and before the time was up it completely shut off. No lights or power. Did it overheat? What can i do to fix it?

It may have blown a fuse, the fuses on some of the GE models are behind the control panel.
Try unpluging from the wall and plug it back in to reset the controls. Check your power trip to see if you have power at the plug point.
